Alpha Eris watched the whole ordeal with amusement. She knew not bowing would stress King Romanov but she couldn't be bothered to fake submission, her wolf was on edge and bowing would anger it further which she did not want to deal with.

With one last glance in Eris's direction, King Romanov spoke.

"Let's get started on the meeting, shall we.
As you can all see, Alpha Atticus Alaister of the Red Dawn pack isn't present to this annual meeting. That's because this time, the meeting is about him." He said in annoyance.

"Alpha Atticus has been causing turmoil in packs all around him for quite a while now which only I and said Alphas knew about, because we were going to solve this with a treaty which I can sadly say did not work out. Over the last years he's become obsessed with power and has decided he should rule over the supernatural world not as the Alpha King of the werewolves but as King of the entire supernatural world which we all know is impossible.

Since losing his mate he has become deranged.
The only reason he was left in power was that he took care of his pack and did not give up on life after his mates departure yet now I see that was a mistake on my part." Boomed the Alpha King.

Alpha Eris's interest was piqued by then. She knew of his psychopathic tendencies which were quite a few but were harmless that's why everyone took it lightly. Even she did and she still does.

What the Alpha King said was true, there wasn't a possibility that the supernatural world succumb to an autocratic leadership. No one was supposed to have that kind of power because if they did, the supernatural world could possibly disappear under such a ruler.

Extinction wasn't a problem to them anymore because of the fact that they weren't in hiding anymore, their numbers increased, excessively, one may say but it wasn't a bad thing, now everyone was supposed to coexist, no more dominant races.

But if there were to be an autocratic leader, the extinction of their races would be a risk again and that would be a problem.

"Alpha Atticus has to be eradicated. I summoned you all here today to talk about that. I will personally remove him from his leadership but after that I need to chose another Alpha to take his place, his Beta isn't powerful enough to do it and he doesn't have a heir, the Red Dawn pack needs a powerful leader and we're here today to choose one." After saying these words, King Romanov was bombarded by questions and statements, some Alphas were asking if he thought about a new leader already while most were yelling that they deserved to rule that pack themselves.

With one roar he shut them all up and said "I haven't chosen anyone yet and this decision is not to be taken lightly, the Alpha must be one close to his pack so the merging of their packs would go smooth. I don't need any more problems regarding his pack."

Alpha Eris was silent through this whole ordeal, as usual, yet now even her Gamma, Calysta didn't say a word, even though their pack was right next to the Red Dawn's one, they knew they didn't need more members or more power than they already head and seeing as they didn't want to be chosen, they didn't say a word.

King Romanov was silently watching all the Alphas, while they chatted about what was going to happen and who should be chosen. He was scrutinizing them to see if there was any which didn't want the pack just for the power it would add to theirs, he knew making a wrong choice again would cause unwanted problems which he didn't want to deal with again so this choice was going to be a extremely careful one.

He turned to his Beta, and asked him through their mind link. "Look closely Aziz, tell me, what do you see?"

Beta Aziz did a quick survey of the room and turned to his Alpha. "Romanov, most of the Alphas here don't care of the well-being of the Red Dawn pack. For them, all of it is a power play."

King Romanov was watching Alpha Eris while answering his Beta.

"Look at the Alpha seated to the left, in the back of the room, what do you see?"

He knew his Betas special ability would help them decide who should be the next Alpha there.

Beta Aziz moved his gaze to her and watched. He could see an aura surrounding her, it was a very dark red with specs of gold all around it, he has never seen anything even remotely close to that throughout his existence.

He could read people's auras like books, he never had a problem understanding an auras meaning until now but he knew it wasn't a bad one.

A powerful one but not in a bad way.

He was intrigued by her, he didn't even notice her until his Alpha told him to look at her specifically, not even when he scanned the room, it almost looked like everything about her was hidden in the shadows he thought to himself.

He made his decision while watching her, she didn't interact with the other female and male who joined her nor with the rest of the Alphas, he found that interesting because those type of meetings were usually used by Alphas to conjure a treaty with another pack or for trades. Even for small talk yet she did none.

While watching her he realized he's never seen her, not in one of their meetings, up until now he didn't even know that the Crimson Shadow pack's Alpha was a female, all the stories told about that pack were about a strong male of which not many things were known.
Hell, even in their papers about that pack the Alpha was written as a male, he would have to change that when the meeting was over, he thought.

He glanced at her one more time before answering the question.

"She's meant to be more than that but yes, she's the one.
Romanov, don't tell her anything yet. Let us wait until after the meeting to talk to her."

With those words, the Alpha turned to the rest of the Alphas present and told them that the meeting was adjourned until further notice, they were asked to stay in the rooms assigned to them until the last meeting, tomorrow afternoon

Alpha Eris turned once again to her Gamma and motioned for them to leave to their rooms to prepare for tomorrow.

When they were almost out of the room, King Romanov called out to her "Alpha Eris I would like to speak to you and your Gamma in private.
Please come to my office after settling in your rooms.
And with those last words Alpha Eris left to leave her things in her room before going for a short run to calm her wolf before meeting the Alpha King again.
