She was staring blankly at the sky.

Such a beautiful thing, endless, an interesting concept, changing colors  right before her eyes, it looked so peaceful, so lovely.

She enjoyed watching the clouds move in the morning and star gazing at night, it was calming, being alive never felt right to her, she never found her place in this world, so powerful yet so weak, that's how she felt on a daily basis, Eris knew her destiny, it was written in the stars yet she couldn't grasp the meaning of it.

It was like a riddle, easy to see and read yet so hard to understand.

She always wondered what would another person do in her shoes, not in a bad way, she couldn't say she hated her life yet she didn't love it either, it was just there, a constant reminder of her purpose.

She felt numb, quite a hard feeling to explain because she always though of how beautiful and lively some things are yet how rough and dead she felt. It was a constant comparison for her.

Not having a mate was a hard thing for her because a mate was supposed to be her other half, should complete her, should calm her and support her, keep her in her place when needed, it was such a beautiful concept yet too far to grasp.

What was she supposed to do without her other half, she could never be whole and with time, she became used to the idea because she knew monsters don't get mates and she accepted that.

She heard her Beta call out her name which brought her out of her daydream. She turned towards him and signed him to go ahead and say what was the matter.

"The annual meeting between all the Alphas and the Alpha King is near and  we received the invitation letter from King Romanov. His highness requested an answer to be sent back as soon as possible so he can start on the preparations."

Eris stood there for a few seconds pondering over what to say because she knew, despite the answer sounding like a choice, it was either yes or go through a trial with King Romanov's subordinates.

Because  giving no answer or saying no was a direct question to his authority which could cause an unnecessary war.

She didn't want any part in another war so she decided to thank her Beta and send him away with a nod of her head because she had to start writing the letter for the Alpha King.

After finishing writing the letter she gave it to her Gamma, Calysta already knowing what to do with the handed envelope started her journey to King Romanov's castle, hoping to reach there soon enough to give it in time because the journey was long, at least one day in wolf form which was quite long considering the speed one can reach  while running in wolf form.

Calysta shifted in her dark brown wolf,  held the envelope in her muzzle and started running through the woods and out the territory's border mind-linking the border patrol on the way to tell them where she's heading and how long she'll be gone, the guards already knowing the situation nodded their head in her direction and wished her a safe journey while continuing on their way around the borders.

It took Calysta 17 hours with stops for food and rest to reach the King's borders where she had to shift in her human form before continuing her way so she could speak to the guards stationed at the northern border through which she needed to pass.

As expected she was stopped at the beginning of the border by the patrol which asked her about the motive for her being there to which she answered  by showing them the letter and stating her pack and position.

After a throughly inspection and a few calls to her pack, they finally let her through the first border she needed to pass. A short while later she reached the gate of the palace where another set of guards started questioning her to which she answered with the same things she told the border patrol and after another throughly inspection they let her through as well.

Finally entering the palace she asked a maid for the directions towards the King's study in which she knew he was waiting for her, having been already announced about her presence by the guards.

Standing in front of his office she brought her knuckles up to knock twice before hearing King Romanov say.

"Enter."

And she didn't waste a second entering and bowing slightly before sitting down.

"Good afternoon your majesty, my name is Calysta Vincent, I am the Gamma of The Crimson Shadow pack and I am here to represent Alpha Eris Ciar, she's sending her deepest apologies for not being able to make it here herself but she got held back by some issues regarding the pack." Said Calysta with a small smile on her face while studying his features, he was a handsome male, she decided, with his short blond hair and imperial blue eyes, he was built like a god, and as tall as a mountain, dressed in a suit paired with a watch and some black dress shoes, he looked like sin she countered.

After studying his features she came back to reality and started laughing to herself, knowing her Alpha didn't get held back, she just didn't want to come herself because to this day not even the Alpha King had seen her and she doesn't want to be in his presence seeing as he'd feel threatened by her power.

She handed him the envelope, trying not to let her laugh out because she knew she'd be in big trouble if she did, not only was it unnecessary but it was also disrespectful towards King Romanov and she knew it.

"It is quite alright, I can understand that, thank you for bringing the envelope, I trust we will see each other next Saturday.
Send your Alpha my best regards and I wholeheartedly hope these issues will be resolved by the time the meeting starts." Said Romanov while raising an eyebrow.

He wasn't stupid, after all he wasn't the King because of his handsome face or his kind nature. He did wonder why Alpha Eris didn't come herself seeing as it was customary to do so, but he didn't feel offended by any means, who knew, maybe she was just shy of his presence in spite of it being a very rare trait in alphas, it wasn't impossible, he thought to himself.

He observed Gamma Calysta Vincent, she was beautiful with her viridian cat like eyes, high cheekbones, long dark brown straight hair, small pouty lips, straight nose...a very welcoming face to the people, if you didn't know who she was, she'd even look rather naive and oblivious.
Yet he knew her and he knew who or rather what she was, after all The Crimson Shadow pack was well knows all across the world for its fierce warriors and powerful nature, only countered by his own pack.

"Thank you King Romanov, I will tell Alpha Eris and of course we will be seeing each other at the meeting, we wouldn't miss it. Have a beautiful evening." Said Calysta while bowing.

She left the room and mind-linked her Alpha telling her about the meeting and how it went before starting her journey back to her home, her pack.
