Eris tilted her head to the right, watching Hades with caution.
She couldn't explain what she was feeling it was something close to confusion one may say.
She wasn't supposed to have a mate and at that point she didn't even want one, the fact that he was the god of the underworld was even worse.
She was an Alpha, not a Queen.
No, she doesn't want that role either.
She wasn't going to reject him, that was madness, the pain would be excruciating and she couldn't deal with that. She knew at one point she'd have to accept him and her position but now was not the time, she had things to deal with in her dimension and most importantly she couldn't leave her pack just like that.
Hades on the other hand fell in love at first sight. He knew she was his in every sense of the word and he wanted to claim her but the way she was watching him wasn't pleasant.
The fact that she didn't say a word was unnerving to say the least, Hades felt almost offended. After all he was a man of power, along his lifetime he's met many women which would fall to their knees begging for his time of the day yet this woman right here, the only one he'd ever give it to didn't even seem to enjoy meeting him.
"Why?"
Was the only question he asked, why what? He didn't know exactly but somehow he knew she'd give the right answer if she wanted.
Alpha Eris didn't answer, she just watched him with her head still titled.
She was studying his features which looked ethereal. He was handsome almost in a beautiful way.
His height only an added bonus to his beautiful chiseled jaw and mismatched turquoise and red eyes.
He was built, very strong looking, she knew firsthand that power didn't mean muscle but he had both, his black hair looked soft, like the petals of a rose.
His skin, not quite dark but slightly tanned.Yet the one thing catching her attention were his black and golden wings, huge and dangerous yet soft and safe.
They looked like a replica of her red and golden wings but slightly bigger.
Without answering his question she wrote down something on a paper before getting up and walking towards him.
She was looking straight into his beautiful eyes when she pulled him by the belt closer to her.
With one hand keeping him close and the other trailing up his abdomen and to his cheeks, she slightly passed her thumb across his soft looking lips and continued her way up and into his hair, wanting to etch every little detail of him in her mind. While she pulled him closer, Hades rested his hands on her waist, caressing her sides slowly while watching her moves, not wanting to disturb her, he was intrigued by her actions, they were so gentle in comparison to her rugged appearance which in his opinion suited her, she was beautiful, her black curly hair looked fuzzy reaching her shoulders, it seemed like a beautiful mess, it made her look even more exquisite.
Eris was enjoying the feeling of his hands caressing her softly, they made her feel beautiful which wasn't something she usually felt.
She gripped his hair tightly in her hand and tilted Hades's head, making his eyes light up, the different colored pupils ablaze with excitement, he liked the loss of power he felt when she pulled his head so easily and he enjoyed even more the feeling of her dominating him, the position she put him in was a very submissive one in which he's never been, it was a rush, a new feeling.
While his excitement was obvious, Eris ignored it and continued her mission.
She started by kissing his right cheek before moving to his other one, continuing her way down the left side of his throat, moving the hand that was in his hair to grip the back of his neck before murmuring, for the first time long time, a very low "Mine" which he wouldn't even have heard had it not been for him paying such close attention to all of her actions.
He didn't realize what she implied in the moment, too caught up in the pleasure of feeling his beloved trail kissed down his neck, the moment she reached the spot where he moaned loud when she kissed, he understood her intention, he was about to stop her, wanting to know her name first, get to know her before diving so fast in their relationship.
But he was too late, in one quick motion, Eris's sides were all combined in one, growing her fangs before burying them deep in his neck, making him weak in his knees, almost loosing balance but before he fell, he dug his hands in her waist, keeping himself upright, at this point his wings were curled around them in pleasure while keeping them safe.
The burst of pleasure was almost too much, even for a god, it was so intense, their souls connecting to one another with ease, the string keeping them together getting stronger yet it was only halfway there because for it to be at its peak, he'd have to mark her as his as well.
Eris finished her marking process by licking the blood around the wound, sealing it up immediately before taking one last glance at Hades and disappearing without a word, leaving no trace behind her.
It took Hades a few seconds to come out of his daze but by then his Queen was gone, he was shocked by her actions, after marking, no one is supposed to leave their mate alone, that not even being the most important thing, being a god, Hades was supposed to be the first one to mark his other half which did not happen, turning everything upside down.
He was almost heartbroken at how easily she left him before noticing and envelope glinting in the sun, on his desk.
He went towards it, picking it up and reading the only 2 words written there.
"3 years."
And this was the only thing he could hold onto until Eris was back, 3 years, the only thing she wrote.
And he understood.
He decided to wait. Once those 3 years were up, she'd come back or he'd go to her himself, bringing her down to his dimension by any means.
His lips tilted up, even her handwriting was messy but beautiful.
His mismatch eyes once again lightning up, with challenge this time, he couldn't wait to have her in his arms and after all, what's a powerful god without his own challenges every now and then.
He did tell himself that he'd wait, he'd allow her these years but he never promised himself he wouldn't find her before the time is up.
And the chase excited him to no end. It's been a while since he had had to do anything else besides rule hell.
