You were in front of the ICU, sobbing continuously, while Taehyung was with some police officers, clearing how Vini met with the accident.
After sometime, he came and sat beside you.
"She was... trying to save a child from a speeding car...." He said and you cried more.
"I-is the c-child safe?" You asked him and he nodded.
"She saved her." He said and side hugged you. You didn't hug him back. You were just crying and praying for Vini.
Suddenly, the doctor came out of the ICU and looked at you both. You and Tae ran to him.
"Doctor... How is she?" You cried while pointing to the ICU.
The doctor sighed and said,"Please come with me to my room. We need to talk."
You got more scared and looked at Tae. He held your shoulder softly, trying to assure you that everything is going to be fine.
You both followed the doctor to his cabin while he asked you to sit.
He sat on the chair and looked at some X-rays intensely. He sighed and then looked at you both.
"Vini is getting swelling in her brain, along with some clots. It is a situation where she is battling for her life."
You kept your hands on your face and shook your head as a no.
"Doctor, will she be safe?" Tae asked. He knew his question was stupid, but he still asked.
"Look Mr. Taehyung, we are going to operate. But.. The chances of her survival are even less than 10℅." The doctor said seriously.
You began to sob more. Tae kept his hand on your shoulder and said to the doctor,"Sir, the girl there in the ICU is someone very close to her, and this girl is one of the closest to me. If Vini dies, then she is going to breakdown, and I won't be able to see it." His voice was shaking by now. He had tears in his eyes.
The doctor gave an assuring smile and said, "We will do our best sir. Please don't lose hope. Tomorrow morning, I, along with my best team, will be doing her operation."
After doing all the paperwork, Tae came and sat beside you. You were outside the ICU, tears weren't stopping to come out from your eyes. You laid your head on his shoulder and he laid his head on yours. Suddenly, he got a call, which was from Hoseok. He picked up the call.
"Tae, where are you? It's 7:00pm and you are still not here with us. Everyone is waiting for you." Hoseok said angrily.
"I am sorry hyung. I won't be able to come to the Award show with you all." He said.
"But why? Are you fine Tae?" Hoseok asked but Tae disconnected the phone and saw you staring at him, with your red puffy eyes, still full of tears.
"You should go." You said.
"I'm not leaving my best friend and Vini."
"Work comes first Tae."
"Then you should also go home. Why are you here? You don't have to go to your office tomorrow?" He asked you in anger.
You sighed. Tears fell down again from your eyes, which were wiped off by Tae's hands.
You held his hand and looked at him."Please Tae, go, for the army."
He took his hand back and looked at you. Tears were in his eyes too, coz he was able to feel you.
"I'll be back soon." He said and left, without looking back at you.
