You felt remorseful.
"Killua... I'm sorry..."

Killua became flustered, seeing that you felt culpable for his injuries.
"I-It's okay, (y/n)! I'm not blaming you or anything..."

You looked down because you thought you have no right to face him.

"I'm so sorry... you helped me, and yet I caused you to become injured like this... I'm ashamed of myself."

Killua gave you a pat on your shoulder.

"I saved you because I wanted to. There's nothing for you to be blameworthy for."

His reassuring words warmed your heart.

"At the very least... would you let me requite you by treating your wounds?"
You said with a tearful smile.

"Of course."
He chuckled as he handed you a first aid kit.

You gently placed a hand on Killua's cheek, scrutinising his wounds.
"Ouch, it looks painful..."

Killua's P.O.V
I could feel my heart pounding faster and heat rising to my face as her soft fingers delicately caressed my wounds. The warmth of her hand slowly transferred to my skin.

"And she was freezing cold just a moment ago..."

I gazed at her in admiration as she tended my wounds with care.

"How long as it been... since someone treated me so kindly? I've never really interacted with others since my life was nothing but assassination training."

The gentle touch of her hand was comforting.

"Her hand is so soft... so warm... and most of all, so kind..."

The longer I stared at her, the more I blushed.

"What the hell is this?! Is this how it feels like to be so close to a girl?"

---------------------------------------

"Does it feel a little better?"
You asked with an endearing smile.

Killua looked away to hide the blush on his face.

"Y-Yeah, thanks."

You stared up at him bemusedly, wondering why his cheeks were tinted red.

"Killua, don't tell me the torturing even caused you to catch a fever."

Before he could make an attempt to reply, you pressed your forehead on his.

"Hmm... you don't seem to have a fever..."

Killua's cheeks were completely flushed by the time you leaned back. He froze in bewilderment, clearly incapable of hiding his blush at this stage.

"K-Killua?! Your face is turning even redder, are you okay?"

He snapped back to reality and gazed at you agitatedly.

"U-Uh, I'm fine. You worry too much."

You were oblivious to the way Killua was acting.

"Why was his face so red if he doesn't have a fever? He couldn't have possibly been blushing... because we're still strangers to each other, aren't we?"

"Geez... this guy is inscrutable after all. But... I like him, it's pleasant being near him... I have a feeling that he lives in a completely different world to me, but even so... is it okay for me to stay by his side?"
You thought to yourself, your lips curling into a smile.

As the room was shrouded in silence, the door abruptly swung open.
