Destiny (Killua x Reader)

Prologue
You ran. You struggled. You tried to escape. But fear had consumed you. You felt your frozen body unable to move any longer as you finally collapsed onto the cold, wet ground.

Raindrops continuously fell onto your frigid body as the storm raged on.

Pain, agony, anguish and misery haunted your mind and body. You lay on the ground silently as you slowly fell unconscious.

"What's going to happen to me now...?"

The shadow of a malicious man with long, black hair appeared before you. He had pins all over his body and he held deadly needles in his hands.

Without any hesitation, he raised a needle. Before he could pierce it into your body, a boy ran forward.

Valiantly, he stood in before you and held his arms out protectively.

"Please, brother... overlook her... she's only a kid."

He turned back to see the painful expression on your face. He sympathised with you because you were a still kid, just like him.

"Why, Kil? She's merely just another target that we were assigned to kill."
Illumi said in monotone.

"Didn't I teach you not to sympathise others?"

Killua looked down and hesitated. He gave a long pause, then raised his head.

Perspiration ran down his forehead as he looked at his brother intensely.

"If it's just those rotten adults who only ever do atrocious things, I won't say anything... but I can't stand seeing another innocent kid get killed right before my eyes!"

Killua bent down, picking you up and holding you protectively.

"Oh god, her body feels like ice..."
He thought to himself.

"I'm taking her back to the mansion."

Illumi tilted his head.
"Seriously? You're taking back some strange girl that is absolutely unrelated to us? Kil, she's part of our target. The mission was to massacre their entire family. You're just getting yourself into trouble. You'll get sent to the torture chamber by mother again."

Killua ignored him and started walking back, carrying you.

"I'll take responsibility for everything."

Killua and Illumi returned to the Zoldyck mansion. Kikyo's face distorted with rage as she saw Killua carrying you back.

"Oh my, Kil?! How could you bring back the target that you were supposed to kill? Do you realise what you're doing?"
She scolded furiously.

Killua walked past his mother, paying no heed to her words.

Kikyo was enraged at his insolent behaviour. She ran before him, blocking his way.

"Move out of the way."
Killua said exasperatedly.

"Kil, end her life now."
His mother ordered.
"Or I'll be the one doing it."
She threatened, her fingers turning into claws.

Killua stayed silent, then replied her with a death glare.

"Try laying one finger on her, and I won't forgive you."

Kikyo fell to the ground as Killua walked past her once again. She was extremely moved after seeing the expression her son had just made.

"Oh Kil, since when were you able to make such a devastating countenance?"
