A stray breeze crossed the city, caressing your cheeks.
Killua lifted his face to the sky for a moment. It was a cool, clear blue and warm rays of sunlight washed down upon him.
"The sun is shining so brightly... is it the afternoon already? Gon must be tired of waiting for us."
You glanced over at Killua.
"Do you have an idea of good fishing spots around this area? I mean, it is a city. Fishing spots should be limited."Killua took out a brochure from his pocket.
"If I remembered correctly... there should be a small map of Yorknew City."Killua studied the map carefully as you walked over to stand closer to him, leaning over his shoulder.
"Does the map show where the closest water resource is?"Killua flinched as he noticed how close you were.
He could feel your breath brushing across the side of his cheeks as his face began to turn bright red.
"U-Uhh, it's not too far away from here..."You stepped back and tilted your head bemusedly.
"What's wrong? Your face is stained red. Did you catch a cold?"Killua refused to look at you.
"I-I'm fine. Anyways let's go find Gon! He's been waiting for us since forever."The two of you walked for several minutes and eventually reached the outer city. You spotted a river shimmering in the distance.
Somehow, Killua was able to find Gon straight away.
"Gon!"
Killua shouted from afar, but his voice was loud enough to reach Gon."Killua! And (y/n)! You're finally here!"
Killua dashed towards Gon at an incredible speed, way too fast for you to catch up.
"How are their hearing and eyesight so good!? Not to mention he moves faster than a cheetah..."---------------------------------------
Your P.O.V
I found myself smiling as I gazed across at the sight of them standing beside the riverbank."Killua found himself a best friend, huh? What a great sight..."
I was glad, but at the same time, I felt odd. The more I looked at them, the further the seemed to be.
"What is this...?"
Then I realised something. The way they smiled at each other was so intimate, it felt as if a barrier was surrounding them. I found myself unable to move any closer.
Was it jealousy? Fear? No. It was loneliness.
I noticed that there was something between them I could never experience, feel or understand. Something that only the two of them shared. A bond built on top of many unfathomable emotions that a normal person could never experience.
"Over these four years... just what had happened?"
I stood there silently as I continued to stare at them from afar. They were close, yet seemed so far away. Somewhere I could never reach, no matter how much I yearned for it.
Their eyes were somewhat clouded, yet full of hopes and dreams for the future. It was as if they were connected by spirit and soul.
"I can tell by just looking at you, Killua. Pain and sorrow that had driven you to despair, yet a spark of light that was always there. I could not possibly imagine how much you had gone through over the past few years, but Gon was there by your side, right? Gon... thank you for allowing Killua to smile."
---------------------------------------
You stepped back. One step, and another.
You turned around. You ran. A few droplets of tears trailed through the air.
"Why do I feel like this? These tears shed... what are they for? Who are they for?"
You ran and ran and ran. You didn't even know where you were heading. You just wanted to run away, to turn away, to just go away.
What were you running away from?
You ran, just ran, with no destination in mind — yet somehow you were able to run into who you needed; probably the person who could give you the most appropriate advice at a time like this.
You raised your head to see a familiar figure standing before you.
As he gently held onto your shoulders, he looked down, his face portraying worry and concern.
"(y/n)... what's wrong?"---------------------------------------
A/N: I kept my update promise for once! Thank god I finished it in time. And I'm sorry it's another sad chapter! Always gotta add problems into the story to make it more engaging, y'know? This will be the last problem you and Killua have to face before the end of the story.
As I said before, this won't turn into a Killua x Reader x Kurapika. Kurapika is like the older brother, or motherly figure you could even say. I personally treasure Kurapika as well as Killua and one of my biggest wishes is to see him smile more. I've kinda exploited this story to make my desires come true.
I wanted (y/n) and Kurapika to be like a real family or hold a close, family-like bond so that Kurapika can treasure his own life more. So that there is someone by his side he could care and look out for. So that he won't get consumed by hatred and revenge and ultimately end up taking the Sasuke route (good lord I hope that doesn't happen if you get what I mean).
Also, I shall be leaving for the airport tomorrow evening and heading over to China. I will also be visiting Japan for 5 days and I'm really looking forward to that! I hope you all enjoy this chapter because I did put in a little cute moment at the start haha~ don't worry, every problem has a solution. And the solution to this uprising problem might just close the distance between you and Killua further more!
On a side note, I'm surprised that I'm actually so devoted to Killua and this story. My love for Killua hasn't decreased the slightest over the past year or so and I usually get a new husbando every few months!? Killua really means a lot to me and I promise my love for him won't lose to you. Hush, I mean it <3
I already have some plans for how the story might turn from here. I could also add in some special chapters, but that depends on how much support I receive from you guys. Reads, votes and comments are highly appreciated! ♡
Thanks for all your support. I hope you continue to enjoy my story!
