As morning welcomed the new day, Kurapika was preparing to head out for an important meeting as the representative of the Nostrade family.
"Doesn't (y/n) need to go with you?" Leorio asked, tilting his head.
"She doesn't need to. One person is enough. I want her to get some rest and relax."
Leorio snorted.
"What a kind guardian you are. Or should I say lover?"Kurapika sighed, irritation slowly consuming his face.
"I thought I clearly explained our relationship already. We're workmates, and she's a very important comrade to me."Leorio chuckled as he gave Kurapika a pat on the shoulder.
"I know, I was just kidding. Have a safe trip."A faint smile replaced the coldness portrayed on Kurapika's face. Soon after he left, Leorio also headed out to collect some documentary for his medical studies.
"Gon, Killua. I'm leaving (y/n) to you guys. Be a gentlemen to her mkay?"
Gon sent Leorio off, grinning cheerfully.
"Leave it to us!"Half an hour had past by, and Gon was itching to go outside.
"Hey Killua, shouldn't we wake up (y/n) already? I wanna go fishing with the three of us! Or maybe just the two of us? (y/n) is sleeping so soundly... I would feel bad to wake her up by force."
Killua glanced over at the room you were sleeping in, and shook his head.
"You can go on ahead. I'll catch up with you after she wakes up. It'd be cruel to leave her behind and let her wake up realising that there's no one in the room.""Killua you're so kind."
A small blush crept onto Killua's face.
"S-Shut up, it's not like that."Gon grabbed his fishing rod as he waved Killua goodbye.
"Come and find me with (y/n) when she wakes up!"Killua waved back, and sent him off with a smile.
"Alrighty."---------------------------------------
Your eyelids fluttered as you slowly awoke from your long sleep.
"What's the time...?"You walk out of the bedroom with unsteady steps. As you spotted Killua sitting on the couch, you asked where the others went.
"Eh, ugh— ah! You woke up... g-good morning."
Killua had developed a sudden and extreme inability to look directly at your face without blushing furiously."Killua? What's wrong?"
He averted his eyes from looking in your direction.
"N-Nothing.""Where are the others?"
Killua equipped himself with a backpack and grabbed hold of your hand."They all headed out. C'mon, Gon's waiting for us at the lake."
He pulled you towards the door."W-Wait!"
The two of you headed out to look for Gon, but Killua had forgotten to ask where he went for fishing and completely lost direction.
"Dammit... we came out in a rush and I didn't even bring my phone!"
Killua scratched his head furiously as you spoke up.
"U-Um... hand..."
You said softly."Hm?"
A tint of pink had spread across your face.
You're still holding my hand..."Killua felt his face heat up as it began to turn bright red.
"Uh— I'm sorry!"He quickly let go of your hand and looked away, still blushing.
"Just being near her is enough to elicit the memories from this morning. Just what am I doing!?"You brought up the courage to break the awkward silence.
"Oh well, if we just hang around the city we'll eventually find Gon! Oh look Killua, there's ice-cream! Wanna get some?"Killua was silent for a moment.
"A-Aren't we looking for Gon!?"Before he knew it, you had already bought a chocolate flavoured ice-cream.
Killua tracked your figure, his eyes sparkling as they landed on the ice-cream in your hand.
"Want some?"You chuckled as you held the ice-cream closely in front of his face.
"I... but... you..."You looked at him bemusedly.
"It'll be an indirect kiss..."
He muttered to himself."You can have the whole thing."
Your lips curled into a smile as you handed him the cone topped with with rich, brown chocolate ice-cream."Huh!?"
"You love chocolate, am I right?" Killua stared at the soft serve in his hand.
"I do but... how did you know?"You looked at him and giggled.
"Your eyes sparkled when you looked at the ice-cream. Plus, I had a feeling that you like chocolate anyway."Killua's eyes widened.
"So she bought this for me from the start...""It's been a while since we've talked like this."
Killua was busily licking his ice-cream.
"Huh? Ahhh... yeah. (y/n), you know... I'm sorry—"You cut him off before he could finish talking.
"
Stop apologising! Geez. We finally reunited and all you have got to say is sorry. Don't you have anything better to say? Like, if I've become prettier or something?"The moment the words were out of your mouth, a small blush consumed his cheeks.
"Y-You haven't changed that much."Your lips formed a kind, yet somewhat lonely smile.
"You've changed a lot though." Killua gazed at you bemusedly."I have...?"
You gazed at him with soft, glittering eyes.
"You look a lot happier than before. Your eyes are full of emotions I cannot fathom. The aura you give off tells me how much you've went through."Killua's eyes widened in astonishment.
"So she can tell that much..."
He thought to himself."You've become stronger."
Killua complimented."Not as strong as you."
He chuckled in the most condescending way possible.
"Well of course. Wait a hundred years before you try to challenge me!"Your eyes narrowed into slits.
"Conceited as always, I see."A wide grin spread across his face.
"Shut up."You exchanged a pair of smiles as you continued strolling around the city.
"This is kinda like a date..."
Killua thought to himself."Come to think of it, I've never been on a date with a girl before. So this is my first time, huh? I'm glad it was with her."
Killua secretly stole another glance of you, and smiled at the sight of you standing beside him.
