You wept as he gently stroked your back, your shoulders, your head.
"Kurapika..."
You mumbled, your cheeks wet with tears.Kurapika didn't know how long you stayed like that, crying as you clung to him.
"(y/n)... here, I'll lend you a shoulder. Let's go back to hotel and you can tell me what happend."Kurapika waited until you nodded, and a soft sigh escaped his lips.
"I-I'm fine. I just felt a swell of emotions wash over me."Kurapika gave you a pat on the head.
"You don't have to push yourself. It's about Killua, isn't it?"The moment the words were out of his mouth, your eyes went wide.
"How—"Kurapika wouldn't let you finish speaking.
"Just making one thing clear. I may be sharp, but I'm not this kind to anyone, okay?"Those words were able to regain cheerfulness from your dulled face, even if was just by a little bit. You gave him what you hoped to be a steady, reassuring smile.
"Thank you, Kurapika. I know how much you care for me, and I care for you just as much, okay? Please spoil me then... and let me spoil you sometime too."
You murmured, your lips curling into a smile.---------------------------------------
Amidst the silence, the two of you sat alone on the hotel sofa.
"So? What is it about?"Your tears have dried as you had stopped crying a while ago.
"I noticed."Kurapika kept silent as you paused.
"I noticed how much pain Killua had went through over these years. Before I had no clue, but now I know. I can see it. I can feel it. I can sense it through his aura... and it's so painful, I don't know what to do."
Kurapika sighed as he gave you a gentle pat on the head.
"Why... is it painful for you?"For a moment you were silent, then sadness swept over you like a raging storm.
"I... all these years... I couldn't do anything for him. I couldn't repay him in any way. I couldn't even stay by his side. I have no right to face him..."
Kurapika looked at you in the eye.
"Are you sure that's all?"---------------------------------------
Your P.O.V
Those words hit me like a blow to my soul. I turned the question over and over in my mind, but found no answer."I feel remorseful for not being there for him when he needed comfort... I feel lonely that I can't fit into the bond Killua shares with Gon... isn't that all there is?"
I thought and thought until the only solution I could find was to cling onto Kurapika for a tight embrace.
His touch was so warm and reassuring, I couldn't find a reason to move away.
"This feeling... I remember, so vaguely. The warmth of a family."
---------------------------------------
You leaned on Kurapika as he embraced you tightly.
"You'll find the answer, I'm sure. Because I just found my answer."Bemused, you tilted your head.
"You were looking for an answer too?""Yeah. Thanks to you, (y/n)... I can clearly see what's important now. Not revenge or vengeance, but to protect what's important to me right now. And that would be Gon, Killua, my fellow workmates, Leorio too, I guess. And of course (y/n), you. Thank you for letting me realise what's truly important."
The two of you exchanged a pair of smiles.
You were especially happy to see such a warm smile plastered across Kurapika's face as it as been a long while since he last smiled from the bottom of his heart.
What you didn't notice was the pair of eyes that have been watching you this whole time.
---------------------------------------
Killua's P.O.V
My heart felt like a cold, twisted lump in my chest as I watched them embracing each other. She looked so comfortable in his arms. I couldn't bring myself to say anything, so I pursed my lips and remained silent instead.
"So that's how it is, huh? If only I didn't leave her behind that day... well. I guess I deserve it. After all, it wasn't me who stayed by her side all these years."
I had already convinced myself that she belonged to someone else, that I wasn't allowed to touch her, own her, or love her. But even so, every minute felt like an hour, and with every second my heart felt that much closer to tearing in half.
It was almost too painful just to stand there. I found myself slowly stepping back.
"I shouldn't have chased after her, dammit."---------------------------------------
You broke the embrace as you finally regained composure. It wasn't long until the familiar aura behind reached your senses.
"Killu—"Before you could even turn around completely, he was rushing down the stairs.
"Killua!"
You immediately stood up and turned around to look at Kurapika.
He gave you a reassuring smile.
"Go and find your answer."---------------------------------------

It's officially confirmed so don't worry. If you doubt it I can show you the volume of Weekly Shounen Jump I bought during my Tokyo trip ;)
But the bad news is that I heard that Togashi said in an interview that Kurapika will be killed off in the Dark Continent arc? HELL NO THAT IS NOT HAPPENING.Have a wonderful birthday Kurapika and if Togashi dares to try and kill you off for the sake of an extra arc? I will go to Japan and start a rebellion with my league of hxh buddies :^)
