I watched as his shadow flashed away and disappeared in front of my eyes.

I thought I had finally lost everything. I felt like I no longer had a reason to be alive.

However, I realised that it was not the end.

The training that I went through for the past year... the memories that I share with him... they are not gone.

That was when I decided what my goal was going to be.

"I want to become even stronger. Strong enough that perhaps one day, I could fight alongside with Killua and protect him like how he protected me. Because I promised myself... that I will never give up, no matter what else happened. He saved my life. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be standing here right now. That's why I won't cry... and I'll become stronger. Strong enough to face him with a smile."

Time skip
It's been 4 years since Killua left you...

You have become a pro hunter, working for the Nostrade Family along with Kurapika.

Ever since you became a part of the bodyguard team, Kurapika has been fond of you and you are one of his comrades that he trusts the most.

Although you're not related by blood, he treats you as if you were his little sister and cherishes you with a strong, inexplicable feeling.

Besides Melody, you're the only one that he had entrusted with the secret about his goal of gathering the eyes of his brethren and avenging his clan.

"Kurapika, (y/n). I'm going to leave Yorknew City with Neon for a while. The two of you may wait here."

Kurapika lowers his head. "Understood. Do we have any missions while awaiting?"

Light Nostrade shook his head.
"Kurapika, I have assigned you as the leader of the Nostrade Family while I am away. Unless there are any important attendances, you and (y/n) may be on vacation before I come back."

You bowed along with Kurapika.
"Yes, sir. Have a safe trip."

"How long has it been since we've had work off? This kinda makes me happy."
You smiled pleasurably, stretching your arms out.

"We still have to attend meetings and-"
Kurapika was cut off by the pout on your face.

"(y/n)... don't make that face... you know that I still need to have good terms with this family in order to gather all the eyes of my brethren."

You gave him a pat on his shoulder.
"I know, I know. I just don't like seeing you stress yourself out. Isn't it good to relax once in a while?"

Kurapika's lips curved into a faint smile.
"Yeah... maybe you're right."

All of a sudden, Kurapika's phone started ringing.
"Leorio? It's been a while since I've talked to you."

Leorio started yelling through the phone.
"THAT'S BECAUSE YOU NEVER PICKED UP MY CALLS! WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN DOING?!"

He was yelling so loudly that even you could hear his voice.

"I see, you are loud as usual... so what do you need from me?"

Leorio had finally calmed down.
"I just wanted to suggest that we have a reunion, with Gon and Killua too. I've called them already and they'll be coming over soon. I'm sure they both want to see you, could you come over too?"

Kurapika hesitated "I can, but..."
He glanced over at you.

"Me? Oh I'll be fine. Geez, I can live without you babysitting me, okay?"
You said proudly, crossing your arms.

"Do you have any other friends here besides me?"

You averted eye contact with him and kept silent.

Seeing your reaction, Kurapika let out a chuckle.
"Leorio, is it okay if I bring someone with me?"

Leorio was delighted to hear that Kurapika has new friends.
"Sure, we'd love for you to introduce them to us!"

Leorio had booked a hotel room for all of you to stay in.

He gladly welcomed the two of you in and sneered when his gaze landed on you.
"Since when did you get yourself such a cute girlfriend, hm?"

Kurapika sighed.
"She's not my girlfriend."

Leorio secretly smirked to himself.
"If they're not dating then that means I can hit on her!"

He was grinning ear to ear at the thought.

"Hmm, then how is she related to you?"
Kurapika hesitated for a moment, then turned around to look a you.

"She's... a very important comrade to me."

You smiled at him endearingly after hearing those words.

"I see... you have found yourself a great friend."

Not long after the three of you sat down and started chatting, the doorbell rang.
"Oh! They're finally here."

You tilt your head bemusedly.
"Who else is here?"

Kurapika smiled at you.
"(y/n). Let me introduce you two of our other friends."

You walk towards the door and peek out to see who's there.

"Kurapika! Long time no see!"
An energetic boy said with an adorable little grin plastered on his face.

"Yo. How have you been?"

Kurapika smiles at them both.
"Gon, Killua. It's nice to see the two of you again."

Your eyes widen as your gaze lands on the familiar white haired boy standing in front on you.
"K-Killua...?"

As Killua turned his head to meet eye contact with you, the previous expression on his face had vanished.

The next thing you noticed was that he was gasping and his eyes had lit up.
"How... it can't be... why are you here, (y/n)?!"

A/N (Manga spoiler alert)
I read the HxH manga but Togashi-sensei is currently still on hiatus and we don't know what's happening next. I have mainly followed his setting as I do not own the characters, I didn't want to make a story where the setting is totally different to the original (high school students etc).

I'm not really sure what's happening within the Nostrade Family but for one thing, I know that they are still in business and is not bankrupt due to Neon's loss of her nen power. Apparently Kurapika is the "young boss" now but he also joined the Zodiacs so I am very confused. I have decided to not care as much about the setting anymore so as this chapter is an explanation of your life after parting with Killua, the following chapters will all be fluffy romance moments between you and Killua because that's what this fanfic is supposed to be about anyway~

Just a heads up that this fanfic won't turn into a Kurapika x Reader x Killua, I have assigned Kurapika with the "big brother" role and I just wanted to add Gon and everyone into the story. They're all gonna be support characters so don't worry! Ain't nobody gonna be in the way of your love with Killua ♡
