The weeks were blurring together, from trying to talk to Harry and being ignored, to trying to keep my muggles studies students interested, before I realized it was already February. Harry had learned to do a slight Patronus charm, Ron had almost been killed by Sirius Black, and Hermione had been coming to me when she needed a pick me up.
"Hermione, you look so tired dear, please tell me you're at least sleeping." I began to pour her a cup of tea.
"I am! At least, a little bit." She said, she was quiet, and her hair seemed to reflect her current state, frazzled and in need of some help.
"You need to be sleeping well in order for your brain to process all your information!" I explained as I offered her sugar cubes.
"I-I know, but I don't want to disappoint any of my teachers and-"
"Oh Hermione, you could never disappoint any of us." I said patting her arm. "I know that the time turner seemed like a good idea, but if I were you, I'd leave it with McGonagall next year."
"You're right, I thought I could handle this, but I guess I can't." She said, her voice tightened, she was obviously upset.
"It's not that you can't handle this." I said grabbing her some tissues. "It's that you shouldn't be this stressed at your age." She blew her nose and nodded. "You most likely have the stress level of a muggle public high school honor roll junior."
"Junior?" She asked.
"Ah American way of saying a year 12 student," I explained quickly, her eyes widened. "In America these students have stress levels of psychiatric patients of the 1940's. And for you to be having that so young isn't good." I said conjuring up my old notebook. "Here, it's how I used to relax when I was stressed. This is your assignment. I need you to take a night off and relax, or at least attempt to." I handed her the book which had some face masks and other muggle items that were soothing.
"Thank you (Y/n)." Hermione put the book in her huge bag that looked like it was about to burst open. "I'm sorry that Harry hasn't been talking with you, he and Ron haven't been speaking to me either."
I sighed rubbing my head. "Boys are idiots, but- no wait I have no counter point they are just idiots." Hermione laughed a bit but was cut off by a knock at the door.
"Come in." I called, Remus walked in, he had bags under his eyes and looked just a little bit worse than Hermione. "Oh hello Remus, would you like some tea? Hermione and I were just chatting." I said as Remus pulled up a chair.
"I hope I'm not intruding." He said sitting down.
"Of course not professor, I have to continue working on my potions essay anyway. Goodbye!" Hermione said and quickly walked out.
"Well she doesn't look so good." Remus said as he charmed her cup clean.
"Poor thing has too much on her plate." I said pouring him some tea. "Honey or sugar?"
"Honey if you please." He said while picking up my nearby planner. "I can't believe Dumbledore is letting you make your own curriculum."
"It's muggle studies! They're only gonna take it once and then they'll move on, it's fine if they have some fun." I explained as I passed him the honey. "How, how are lessons with Harry?" I asked.
"He's progressing very well, his Patronus isn't fully formed, but the charm is good enough for his purposes." Remus explained as he prepared his tea.
"That's good, do you think it'll be a stag?" I asked, Remus shrugged.
"It could be, it's so hard not telling him about our days at Hogwarts, I don't know how you handled keeping it secret for 12 years." He said leaning his head on the table.
