"(Y/n), Sirius, we have something to tell you." Lily was fiddling with her wand, searching for any reaction from the couple.

"What is it?" Sirius asked, setting his cup down on the coffee table. "Don't tell me you're already tired of him?" He nodded over to James who was gathering snacks.

"She wishes she could be tired of me," James smirked, placing the tray of treats on the table. "Trust me, you're gonna love it."

"Love what? Spit it out already." I groaned, time had been going by so fast, James and Lily had been married for nearly a full year and Sirius and I had been engaged for about two months.

"We're having a baby!" Lily exclaimed, unable to hold her excitement anymore.

I jumped up and immediately enveloped her in a hug. "That's wonderful Lils!"

"That's not all," James said as he was relinquished from Sirius.

"Twins?" I asked excitedly. James' eyes grew wide before shaking his head.

"Lily and I were talking," James said as he motioned for Sirius and me to come closer. "With everything that's going on, we wanted to ask you two, to be godparents to our child." He smiled, glancing between Sirius and me. "As you know I didn't have any siblings and Petunia is less than ideal." He earned a scoff from Lily and a chuckle from Sirius. "If anything were to happen to us-"
"We'd want you two to take care of our little one." Lily finished, taking our hands.

I looked at Sirius who was beaming. "Of course, we will." he said, blinking back tears.

"You think we'd let Petunia take care of your baby instead of us?" I joked. "Something really terrible would have to happen for this little one to be away from us." I cooed, placing a hand on Lily's stomach.

"We're going to be here every step of the way," Sirius reassured James, who seemed to have a weight lifted off his shoulders. "This little one is going to be surrounded by a loving family whether they like it or not."

James laughed, clapping Sirius on the back. "Now, how about something to celebrate with?"

I arrived back at the campsite to find Sirius outside napping. "Sirius?" I gave him a scratch behind his ears, he was sunbathing as a dog, enjoying the warm rays.

He transformed back, still leaning into the scratches. "How was your hearing love?"

"It went remarkably well." I explained, removing my hand from his head, earning a small whine. "Look at this." I passed him the folder containing the paperwork given to me by Lance. "With enough checks, we could bring Harry home!"

Sirius quickly read through the papers, "You mean," He paused for a moment with a small smile creeping up on his face. "We get to have our family?"

"Yes!" I wrapped my arms around him, smothering him into a hug. "We'll be together again, just as Lily and James wanted."

Sirius pressed a small kiss to my lips, one which I gladly reciprocated. It wasn't a very long kiss, just enough to convey the simple things; I'm happy, I can't wait to be with you, I love you.

"I've brought you some old clothes," I smiled, pulling out the duffle bag from the house. "I tried to get enough to last you, but not enough to weigh you down.

Sirius' eyes went wide. "You kept my old stuff?" he asked, as he began to look through the bag.

"I couldn't bear to part with it." A small smile appeared on Sirius' face. "I kept our things in the spare bedroom when I rented out for a bit of extra cash," I explained. "Just sealed off the room, most tenants didn't mind."

"I can't wait to get home." Sirius sighed dreamily. "Of course, I'll have to be spotted soon." He said, his smile falling slightly.

"And the house needs to have no trace of you if we want to get Harry out of his aunt and Uncles." I added, knowing that we would have to be apart if we wanted to do what's best for Harry.

"How long do you think these at-home checks will take?" He asked rifling through more paperwork.

"I think it'd take at least a month or two," Sirius grunted in acknowledgment. "Plus, it'll take some time to move Harry's things once we get approved."

I could feel Sirius wrap his arms around me, he had the handwritten instructions for a marriage ceremony from Lance in his hand. "We're going to have to be apart for a while until we can be together again, aren't we?"

"I'm afraid so," I could feel my throat getting tighter, "But we're doing this for Harry."

"For Harry, James, and Lily." Sirius sighed, nuzzling himself in my hair. "I can't believe after all this time I get to see you again, and we have to be apart this quickly." He groaned.

"It'll just be a couple more months." I raised my hand to run along his face. "I can still come visit-"

"No." Sirius had interrupted. "If you truly want to get cleared and be trusted to care for Harry we cannot risk getting caught, Praelia."

"You're right." I sighed, "You were always right."

We sat there together for hours, watching as Buckbeak chased after ferrets and other small furry creatures, the sun was setting, and it was so peaceful.

"Do you think we should've had kids earlier?" Sirius asked suddenly.

"How do you mean?" He glanced over at me; his eyes had a touch of sadness.

"Well, it's just, I love Harry more than anything, and I just feel like if we had a kid they'd be around his age, they could've helped him feel less alone." He explained playing with a rock on the ground.

I hummed in acknowledgment. "I suppose, but then what would happen once you were sent away?" I asked, thinking of this hypothetical. "I'd be stuck with two little ones." I chuckled at the idea.

Sirius' hands made their way to my stomach. "I don't think being stuck with two little ones would be too bad." He smiled. "But I guess that's something for later."

"You sure you want to wait?" I teased; his hungry gaze made its way down my form.

"It'll be worth the wait." He smirked, giving a light squeeze. "For now, how does dinner sound?"

"Sounds wonderful." We went inside the tent and Sirius began dinner as I began filling out the paperwork for the house checks.

The next morning arrived quickly, much quicker than I had wanted. "And you're sure you'll be alright?" I asked as Sirius loaded his essentials onto Buckbeak.

"I'll be fine love; I'll write as often as I can." He pressed a quick kiss to my cheek. "I will see you again." He mounted Buckbeak before looking back. "I love you, so much Praelia."
"I love you too Padfoot." I said, giving him a small wave as he flew off. "Time to go home," I muttered apparating to Privett Drive.
