Remus and I arrived at the feast to see the Great Hall as greatly decorated as always, all the kids were enjoying the feast, laughing and eating, enjoying each other's company. As they should be, these are the best times of their lives, where they get to learn and experiment with magic, they shouldn't have to worry about death, murderers, or losing anyone until they are older.

The feast had begun, and Severus had decided to sit with me, for what reason I had no clue. "What do you want Severus?" I asked as I began to eat.

"I just wanted to give you my condolences." He said taking a drink from his goblet. "How- How is Lupin?" He asked, he wouldn't look at me, he simply glanced at Lupin, then back to his food.

"What do you care?" I asked as I scanned the hall, occasionally meeting students' gazes.

"I really don't, but I figured, for Lily's sake." He began before I cut in and stopped him.

"Lily's dead, Severus, and even if she weren't do you think she'd want us to talk?" I asked as I locked eyes with Draco Malfoy, he was staring at Snape and looked to me, he waved slightly to which I nodded.

"I don't know what Lily would want, but I'm sure she wouldn't want you helping a murder get into Hogwarts." He muttered.

"Excuse me?" I asked finally turning to face him.

"You heard me (L/n)." He snarled eating some more of his food.

"Well I'm sure, as you know, Dumbledore has entrusted both Remus and me to keep Hogwarts safe within the regards of Sirius Black." I spat out as I glanced toward Harry, he was getting his second serving of mashed potatoes.

"Yes well, Dumbledore can make mistakes-"

"Such as allowing you to teach children and you know be a Death eater." I said slamming my goblet softly on the table. Snape glared at me before he picked up his plate and moved down to the empty spot at the end of the table.

"What was that about Ms. Potter?" McGonagall's voice drifted to my ears; the ghosts had just started the end of the night entertainment.

"Oh you know, old classmates remembering why we hated each other." I joked as I began to play with the peas on my plate.

"Oh you know Severus doesn't mean what he says, you used to be good friends as I recall." She said watching the ghosts.

"The key phrase there Minnie is used to be." I said as I finally set my silverware down, they disappeared thanks to the house elves in the kitchens. McGonagall shook her head slightly before rubbing my back.

"It truly does get easier, I'm so glad that you are back my dear." She said as the ghosts finished their reenactment of botching the beheading of Nearly Headless Nick. "Hopefully back for good."

I smiled at her before grabbing her hand and squeezing it. "Thank you, Minnie, you really have been the best for me since my mother passed." I said before I stood up. "I think I'm going to spend some time with Harry, I should find him before he-" I scanned the hall and the boy with messy black hair and emerald green eyes was gone. "Disappears." I waved to McGonagall and made my way to the Gryffindor common room.

"Why isn't anyone going in?" I could hear Ron's voice from the entrance of the common room.

"What do you mean no one's going in?" I asked trying to look over the heads of the students. "Did someone forget the password?" I asked.

"Let me through please," Percy's voice rang through the crowd. "What's the hold up here? You can't have all forgotten the password- hey I'm Head Boy!" I followed Percy through the crowd. There were three large slashes where the Fat Lady would've been.
