I was sitting in my classroom grading the analysis of muggle writings and they weren't too terrible, aside from the common 'if they had magic it would be easier' line every now and then. I continued to work until I heard a knock at my door.
"(Y/n), Ron and Hermione left to Hogsmeade, and I was wondering if you still wanted to spend the day together?" Harry asked as he opened the door.
"Of course Mini Prongs, grading papers is so boring." I explained as I got up and met him at the door. "Lupin should be needing our help anyway."
"What did Lupin need you to do again?" Harry asked as we made our way to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.
"He needed assistance with his new grindylow, I think it's for your next unit." I explained, Lupin was waiting outside of his office.
"What's a grindylow?" He asked as Lupin met us halfway.
"It's a water demon," He said smiling down at Harry. "Come on, I'll show you." We followed Lupin up to his office where a green creature with sharp horns and spindly fingers was making faces through a large murky tank.
"You see its fingers?" I asked to Harry who nodded. "That's its weak spot, as long as you can break them, you should be fine."
"Would you like some tea?" Lupin asked looking to me then to Harry. "I was going to make some for (Y/n) and me, but I'm sure I have another cup around here somewhere." Lupin began to look for his kettle.
"Uh, sure, why not." Harry said as he watched Lupin tap the kettle with his wand. A blast of steam came from the spout.
"Please, sit." Lupin said nodding to the chair behind Harry. I simply conjured one up. "I only have tea bags, but I daresay you've had enough of tea leaves?" I chuckled at Lupin's comment.
"How'd you know that?" Harry asked looking from Lupin to myself.
"Min- Professor McGonagall told us." I explained as I accepted the chipped teacup from Remus. "You're not worried are you H'?" I asked, he had been concerned about the dementors, but hopefully Trelawney wasn't making his already sad life more difficult.
"No, no I'm fine." Harry's voice wasn't as strong as it normally was, he sounded worried, was there something else besides the dementors?
"Is something worrying you Harry?" Lupin asked concerned, his voice had the same tone that it had when he was trying to help Sirius when his family essentially disowned him.
"No." Harry said, he was lying, whenever he lied his eyes would fidget slightly. I looked over at him, he looked back at me before looking down. "Yes," Harry placed his cup down quickly. "You know that day we fought the boggart?" He asked.
"Yes." Lupin said slowly, I nodded along with him.
"Why didn't you let me fight it?" Harry asked abruptly.
"You didn't let him fight it?" I asked placing my cup down as well. "Why not?"
"I would have thought that was obvious." He said, Lupin sounded surprised, more so at me then at Harry. I sighed slightly as I leaned back in my chair.
"Wait, why, I still don't understand?" Harry said. I placed my hand on his shoulder as I stood up and walked behind him.
"Well, I assume that Lupin thought that if you were to face the boggart it would turn into Voldemort." I said as I walked to Remus and flicked his forehead.
"Ow!" Lupin groaned slightly. "But clearly, I was wrong," He frowned. "But I didn't think it was a good idea for Lord Voldemort to materialize in the staff room, I imagined that people would panic." He said glaring at me slightly, I stuck my tongue out at him before wandering around his office.
