New Years Eve, isn't as eventful as Christmas was. Kia and I are wanting to go out in town but the doctors told her to take it as easy as she could and that means no partying on New Years Eve.
At first when I told Mitch he was a little upset but he got over it quickly. “Maybe George can fill in for you at the show,” Mitch said. I nodded my head hoping he could. I'm guessing they took care of it because Mitch doesn't say anything to me about it again.
Now I look down at Kia laying her head on my lap and I smile. “What?”
“Nothing, I just can't believe that this beautiful girl is mine finally.”
She laughs and starts to say something but I cut her off by grabbing her nose. She starts laughing but stops. “That hurt my ribs.”
“Don't laugh then,” I say sarcastically.
She rolls her eyes and asks, “What time is it?”
“Nine twenty.” I answer her.
She looks at me and pouts her lip. I sigh and get up to change the movie. I hold up a DVD and she says, “No, put in a romantic comedy.”
I sigh and do as I am told. I pretend that I hate these movies but I honestly love them. “Life as we know it, or Killers?”
Kia thinks about it for a minute and answers, “Life as we know it. I want to see sexy Josh Duhamel,”
I laugh and say, “Look all you want but just know at midnight, you are kissing me.”
She rolls her eyes and says, “We'll see about that one.”
I stick my tongue out at her and she jokingly pouts. “Well that just isn't nice,” she teases me.
“I never said I was nice.”
She rolls her eyes and changes the subject, “When is the last time you listened to Hunter Hayes?”
I think about it and say, “This morning. What about you?”
She raises her eyebrows at me and whispers, “Last night. I listened to Wanted and it made me think of you.”
“Really Kia? That's funny because I listened to Light me Up and it made me think of you.”
She smiles and I know that I said something that made her happy. She whispers, “Will you teach me to play guitar?”
I nod my head and say, “New Year's Resolution?”
“Kinda, more like, I want another way to escape.”
I walk back over to the couch and sit next to her. She cuddles into me and it feels so right holding her in my arms. “Kia, I love you.”
“Jacob, I love you too.”
I kiss the top of her head and wait for the movie to start. I see Katherine Heigl appear on the screen. I get ready for the best part of the movie and get ready to laugh. At the same time Kia and I both exclaim, “Get out of my car! Get out of my smart car!” We both start laughing and Kia grabs her sides. “Ow that hurts! I can't believe that I still can't laugh.”
“You broke five ribs you should be thankful that is all that happened.” The movie ends and at midnight we have our most passionate kiss yet.
