Kia moved back in with me. She is graduated now so her parents have no control anymore and she is happy about that but she knows in the end that nothing will ever really matter because I will always be here for her.
The music starts playing and everyone stands up. I give a quick glance back to Mitch and Ezra. They smile at me and then I look down the aisle to my soon to be wife. She looks so beautiful in her white gown and she knows it. She is starting to become more and more aware of the truth, when she has someone telling her everyday that she is beautiful just the way she is.
She is coming closer and yet it feels like it is taking her forever to get her to me. Like she with each step forward she takes two steps back. Finally she reaches me and I grab her hands without thinking about anything. She smiles at my parents and they smile back at her.
“Jacob Chance do you take Kia McDown to be your wife?” the preacher asks.
I nod my head. “I do!”
“Kia McDown do you take Jacob Chance to be your husband?”
She looks at me and smirks. “I do,” she says acting like it is some horrible crime to love me enough to never want to be away from me.
Everyone laughs and the preacher continues. “Well I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride.”
I look at Kia and go to kiss her, but I notice something in the window behind her and I stop. She looks shocked and then I grab her hand and yell, “Everyone follow.”
We get outside and I kiss her as the snow falls all around us. “You finally got your kiss in the snow.”
“I guess I did. And it was the start to a long line of kisses I hope never ends.” I kiss her again.
