Blood on my hands

"Ha! You're gonna get fat!"

Those are Natsu's first words to me as I enter his room. He was a lot more perky than Gray, and he's usually the one that goes overboard.

I wasn't that bothered about how my body would change, if I'm honest. Of course I had acknowledged how my body would differ after pregnancy. This is only my first, so the change shouldn't be drastic.

"Thanks, Natsu." I couldn't resist a giggle, "I did come to talk to you about it, actually. First, you feeling better?"

He nods, shuffling himself out of the thin sheet and sitting up right, "Yeah, I'll be out of here in no time."

I take the seat on the end of his bed, biting at my nails since I was a just a tad embarrassed. Natsu having the awareness that Gray and I had sex, and I wouldn't put it past me if he's also had some details, was something I hadn't prepared myself for. Thank god Lucy kept it to herself for so long.

"I think you know what I'm gonna ask you," Natsu may be a reckless bastard, but he at least has some brains.

"Keep your little love child a secret?" I nod, "Don't worry, I will. I may blurt secrets out, on accident or not, but nothing as major as that. At first I thought you two were in a relationship or just shagging, since the day after my party I went over to Gray's and saw you two sleeping nude together," Oh god... "Unfortunately, Gray's duvet is pretty thick so I didn't see anything."

Unfortunately? Natsu's perverted comments are, most of the time, unintentional. He's never really with it.

It's still embarrassing how he saw that, though.

"Did you mention that to anyone?"

He shakes his head. "Not even Lucy, as much as I wanted to." Even though she already knew, he proves his trustworthiness, "When are you planning to tell people? About the baby 'n all."

Gray and I hadn't discussed that topic much, but I had a brief idea, "Around or after Christmas. My parents already know, and so do his, apart from his mother," Natsu hadn't mentioned Erza, Gray must've explained it last night, or it'd be a frequent subject in our conversation, "so do Levy and Gajeel." I didn't mention Lucy since I knew he'd have a fit about how she found out first and didn't spill it to him,

"How'd everyone take it?"

I sigh, not everyone has had the best reaction. Silver is the one most happiest by it, complete opposite to my father. My mum was okay, I guess. She's supportive, but not honest, and honesty is the thing I need most.

"Gray's dad was strangely joyful about it, my mum was okay, but my dad..." My father hadn't contacted me. I think he was planning to cut me off, and not let my mother have a say in it. "told me to get an abortion."

Natsu's usual cheery, relaxing expression fades.  He moves closer to me, hooking an arm around my shoulder. A simple hug was enough for sympathy, words were not required. Natsu's such a sweet dork, Lucy's an extremely lucky girl and he's fortunate to have her too.

I indulged in Natsu's hug, it's all I needed in that moment. This support was so unexpected. It's reassuring to know how much my baby will be loved even not by blood relatives. My friends were enough, and more like family than my biological one.

I'm on my knees, screaming to a point of silence. My hands smeared in my own blood. My stomach felt like someone had stabbed me. The agonising pain was unbearable. I have no idea where I am. My voice calls Gray multiple times, each call my pitch decreases and I've lost my voice. From the bare minimum my eyes were able to catch through my growing poor vision, blood is gushing between my thighs, dripping down my legs and staining the bathroom the floor.
