AN: really doubting my skills as a writer but I continue anyway... hope you guys like it
(9/01/2022) AN rant: had this chapter in my drafts for a while so I'm just gonna post it. I haven't actually done ANY writing for weeks because I've been busy with exams and also I have no motivation idk why prolly cause I'm depressed and staying up until 4 in the morning but we move. Xmas wasn't fun.

'Erza was weirdly calm about the baby. I think it's gonna be okay.'
I wake up, reasonably early, and after four hours sleep, to a message from Gray. I'm not as easily convinced as he is. I think it's just how he wants her to react.
'I'm not so sure.' I type back and slip out of the covers.
Gray's usually the pessimist out of the two of us. This time it's me bringing the positivity down to a more realistic state between us.
'You weren't there' He responds after a minute, 'She wants to help and doesn't want to make it hard on you.'
I leave the message opened, a little nervous from his bleak way of texting.
'Did you sleep alright?' That sounds more like him.
Both of us are stressed. I can give him the benefit of the doubt if he sounds agitated at all with me, I can understand why he's like this. He wants to make sure I'm okay at any point in the pregnancy, and doesn't want to relive some of his childhood trauma due to his parents separation.
'Not really. What about you?'
I go inside my bathroom, keeping my phone in my hand and then rest it on the sink. I splash some water on my face to wake me up a little, and run some through my hair to cool me down as a hot flush has suddenly hit me.
'Neither. Erza ended up going to a hotel after all to clear her head. I just watched netflix until I passed out.'
I knew it wasn't okay. If she was "weirdly calm" with it why would she end up leaving?

A day had passed. Gray and I hadn't talked since yesterday morning and he hadn't gotten back to me with any news about his mother, which makes me believe it's all going to shit.
My mum had invited me round for dinner next weekend, and said Gray is welcome to join as well. I'm hoping this means my dad wants to reestablish our relationship, and he's accepted I'm having a baby. Or he wants a bigger row.
"Juv, you ready?" Lucy calls.
I'd been laying on my side on the couch for the past half an hour with a pillow between my legs, trying to subside the pain of aching muscles. Lucy had been nagging me to get changed and go out for a light jog with her. I'd done what she'd asked and got dressed into Gajeel's old t-shirt and a pair of oversized joggers, but proceeded to dose off instead.
"Kinda." I mumble.
She comes out of the kitchen with her hands on her hips with a disappointed pout. "Come on, up." She holds her hands out for me to grab.
"Can't we do it tomorrow?" I attempt a negotiation.
"You said that yesterday." She flicks her fingers, giving me a warning.
I groan and let her pull me up. She keeps ahold and leads me out the door. "It's good for you, love. You know it."
"Sleeping is so much better though."

I'd done my half of the deal, having her drag me along the path in the process. Now the two of us were in the park, I'm sat on her feet as she horribly attempts sit ups.
