"Where are those crazy kids." I heard Jack say. "Her car is still here," Adam said. "Up here," I yelled. The door opened and I climbed down the ladder with Hunter following me "Where's Lindsey she's dead." I said.
"At Amanda's house. She's been there all day." Jack said.
"Who shut the door?" I asked.
"Must've been me. Sorry dear." Helen said winking at me. "We've been trapped up there for a while," I said.
"Where's your ring?" Adam asked. I went into my jean pocket and put it on. "I put it in my pocket earlier," I said.
"Why?" Adam asked.
"I was helping Hunter get the bunk bed out the attic and it would've fallen off or gotten lost," I said.
"Emma let me speak to you in private," Helen said. I followed her into the kitchen and took a seat at the table. "What is it?" I asked.
"These walls aren't very thick and I didn't shut that door for you to ignore your heart." She said.
"Please don't do this to me," I said.
"Love doesn't come around every day." She said. "Adam's been there for me," I said. "Yes he has, but you don't owe him something you can't give him." She said. "You think I'm making a mistake," I said. "Indeed I do." She said.
"What am I going to do," I asked.
"Come clean to him and let Hunter love you." She said.
"I can't lose any more people," I said.
"You'll lose Hunter soon." She said.
"No, I won't," I said trying to assure myself. "It takes him but so long to finish his job here." She said.
"What do I do?" I asked.
"The way I see it you have two options. Both aren't very nice, but it has to happen. You either lose the one you loved or lose the one who you truly love." Helen said.
"Both options suck," I said.
"I know, but it must be done." She said.
"I need something stable for Skylar," I said. "Just like him with Maria." She said. "What if I can't be a mom to Maria?" I asked.
"That's like saying you can't be a mother to Skylar." She said.
"Which do I choose?" I asked.
"Only you know. It's your life, not mine." She said.
"Please. I need to know." I said.
"Your a grown woman. I can no longer tell you what to do." She said.
"Why?" I asked.
"It's your choice." She said.
"What if I make the wrong one?" I asked. "That's why we have them. To learn from them. I can't tell you which to choose because then you'll never learn from your mistakes." She said.
