In the middle of the room laid an unconscious Mingmei, her clothes ripped and tattered as if she had been brutally beaten. But as Feng Jiu looked closely, she could see Mingmei had not been harmed; in fact, she looked to be in a deep spellbound sleep.
Ignoring Miao Luo who was sitting legs crossed on Mingmei's bed wearing a purple gown that clung tightly to her figure, without thinking, Feng Jiu grabbed Mingmei. Despite the little cultivation she had, she changed her clothing using magic.
A white sleeping gown replaced her ripped peach coloured dress. She had no time to clean the stench that surrounded her sister. Feng Jiu's mouth filled with blood, while a wave of nausea threatened to cripple her.
But Feng Jiu was determined to protect her sister, her people and get the Demon vermin the hell out of there.
Not once did Feng Jiu bother to acknowledge Miao Luo, her heart pounded so fast that she was sure the Demon King could hear it hammering inside her chest, the thumping sounds bounced around the confines of Feng Jiu's rib cage.
Feng Jiu removed the amber pendant from her neck and placed it on Mingmei. Seeing the protective shield wrap Mingmei, she laid her on the floor just outside her chambers and faced Miao Luo.
Without a second thought, Feng Jiu leapt forward to attack, causing excitement to bubble up in Miao Luo.
Feng Jiu's weak state allowed for Miao Luo to taunt her, her crackling voice and constant mutterings were all Feng Jiu could hear until she realised something that shocked her more.
"You are not here?" Feng Jiu's voice sounded fractured as she still fought to keep from gurgling out.
"I am." Miao Luo teased.
"No, you are not. I have caught you many times, but I am grabbing at air." Feng Jiu grunted
"Ohh? you were?" Miao Luo smirked having exhausted Feng Jiu with a pointless game of cat and mouse.
"If this is the case, how did you get to Mingmei? Why are you here? What the hell do you want?" Screamed Feng Jiu, as a sudden understanding caused her to feel defeated realizing how weak she truly was in the face of such a powerful Demon.
"You are pathetic, you know?" Miao Luo taunted. "I, The Demon King have been banned from being able to leave my lands for eternity, and yet, here I am, with a Queen who can't even protect a child."
Pain radiated through Feng Jiu's chest, she had been assured her whole life as to the Queen she would become, and up to now, she believed it. However, Miao Luo's words rung true in her mind; she could not help but believe it.
"I can go wherever you go because that old rock allowed it." Mio Luo continued to speak.
With a look of confusion, Feng Jiu did not want to continue this conversation, any mention of Dong Hua's ties to her were always woven together with pain.
"Do you know he wished he had never met you? that you had never been born? Because of you, Bai Feng Jiu, he will spend eternity in the pits of hell." Making someone believe a lie was hard, but not if the lie was bound together with guilt.
"He what?" Feng Jiu's already damaged body gave way beneath her, landing on her knees that she could no longer feel, she sobbed into her hands. "He wished that? He will go where..?"
Miao Luo smiled within herself, a victory she had been planning in the event she could get time alone with Feng Jiu. She stood to take a walkabout Mingmei's chamber as if she were a predator circling her prey.
