The Bai family were standing directly behind Dong Hua and Mo Yuan. During the trip, Feng Jiu had changed back to her true form, when Zhe Yan tried to take Feng Jiu from him, Dong Hua growled under his breath and tucked her head securely into his neck. His reactions had Zhe Yan laughing loudly, which made Feng Jiu stir in his arm, causing her to groan in pain.

"Zhe Yan, if you don't shut your mouth I will shut it for you. Be quiet; you're waking her up." Dong Hua said without looking at him and without any specific expression on his face

"Pshhh, calm down." Zhe Yan said while moving back to Bai Zhi. "Since when have I ever given a sh...." looking at Lian Song who was watching their short exchange with his mouth wide open. He never really saw them interact, so Zhe Yan decided to pull back his comment. "....ever given much thought to the things you say."

"Why are you pretending in front of Lian Song? He saw everything by the entrance?" Bai Qian asked giggling at Zhe Yan.

Rolling his eyes, "Fine, I like to anger him the most." Zhe Yan said appearing next to Lian Song.

"I've seen." was all Lian Song could say. He heard many stories about all four High Gods. But he could count the number of times on one hand when he ever saw them in one place together. Mo Yuan stayed in Kun Lun; The Fox Emperor always travelled, while The Phoenix stayed in The Peach Grove. Although they did come to the Nine Heavens, they were never together, and it was only ever to visit Bai Qian. But seeing the way they were with each other, he did not doubt that they would have stopped off at Tai Chen Palace.

"We are about an incense stick away, Ye Hua you can take the route ahead and head towards the nine heavens, Tian Jun will need to know what's happening, he is free to come tomorrow. I'll go ahead to get everything prepared." Mo Yuan said looking at Ye Hua

"All right." Ye Hua said, nodding at his brother. Ye Hua turned to Bai Qian and brushed her hair out of her face behind her ear. "I'll bring back Ali and Mingmei, don't bring her into our chambers, you still have punishment yet," he said the last part quietly in her ear causing her to blush.

"Eeek! Just go!." Zhe Yan said. "Foxes have sharp senses, hearing being the best, and since I heard it, you practically shouted it aloud."

It was Ye Hua that blushed. he gave Bai Qian a quick peck on the forehead and left quickly with Mo Yuan following behind.

Dong Hua was still holding Feng Jiu. He hadn't moved his head much so from the back he looked like a stiff statue. The only movements Dong Hua made were when she stirred in his arms. He would gently prop her up and adjust his arms to keep her comfortable. Then back to his stiff stance.

"It's a sight to behold, isn't it?" Zhe Yan nudged Lian Song lightly

Lian Song looked confused, "What sight?"

Zhe Yan directed his eyes towards Dong Hua and Feng Jiu, "The Old Rock and The Queen."

"Ohh, I must admit, this is a first." Lian Song said in a whisper afraid he would offend Dong Hua

"Don't mind him, you're his friend, he doesn't have many of them."

Dong Hua cast a privacy shield over Feng Jiu and himself, having heard enough of Zhe Yan's mouth.

Zhe Yan laughed again, and this time Bai Zhi joined him having not seen this side of Dong Hua since they were young.

"Must you tease him? now I can't hear whether she's okay or not." Bai Qian looked at Bai Zhi pouting.
