4|mission
Lillian stood by a window watching as the city below was destroyed. Her heart felt torn between protecting her home and Remy and killing innocent people.
"Our civilisation really was behind in technology." She hummed, entertained by the strange flying vehicle they were in. She glanced over her shoulder and spotted Hange staring at her. "I hate this."
"I know you do." Hange patted her shoulder as Armin joined them, greeting the two women. "Well done, Armin."
"Commander! I've spotted the guide lights!" Onyankopon, the driver, announced to them all.
"Thank goodness. So far, the operation's going as planned." The Commander said gratefully. "We're counting on you, Onyankopon."
"Leave it to me, Hange!" He said with determination. Lillian was impressed by him and how willing he was to help the "Island Devils".
"Sneak through the zone, low and slow." Hange commanded to him. "We'll follow the lights and pick everyone up. We've only got one shot, so any stragglers are out of luck. If we're not shot down first, that is."
"Levi better be back quickly." Lilly sighed, leaning her head against the cool glass window. She squinted her eyes, trying her best to see if she could find Levi.
"You're doing it again." The brunette slapped her friends hand, stopping the blonde from nervously biting her nails. "Talk about a reckless plan. You get possessed by Erwin or something?"
"I can only hope. If it means his strength is with me." Armin replied. "Now that it's come to this, if we can't recover Eren and the others, there's no future for us."
"I know Erwin would be proud of you, Armin." Lillian smiled at the boy, her heart skipping a beat at the mention of her late brother. It had been five years since he had passed but she was still in mourning.
The sound of ODM gear clanging against the ship echoed as the Scouts retreated back. Lillian waited patiently, moving into the next room where she knew Levi would be taking the Jaeger brothers.
"Levi." She ran into his open arms, ignoring the curious blonde man behind him. "I hate this."
"I know." He sighed, stroking her hair as she held him close. "Wait here, I need to deliver this one to Hange."
"Eren." Lillian was shocked when she saw Armin pull her Godson on to the ship.
"Damn, you're a filthy sight." Levi stated with disgust as he stood beside his wife. "You fall in a pile of shit? Eren."
"Captain." A gasp escaped Lilly's lips as Levi kicked Eren full force, the boys body falling over as he grunted in pain. Armin held Mikasa back, stopping the girl from attacking their captain.
"This bring back memories, Eren." The Captain approached him again while two soldiers aimed their guns at him. "You have such a kickable face. After you're all tied up, we'll have a chat."
"That's fine, but I explained everything in the letters." Eren mumbled back to him, keeping his head lowered. "Did you not understand it?"
"That face." Levi clicked his tongue in annoyance. "It reminds me of the rotten shits who lived underground. Never thought I'd see it on you. Cheer up. Everything happened like you wanted."
"Are you okay?" Lillian kneeled in front of the boy, not knowing whether she wanted to kick him or hug him. "You're all grown up. You look so much like your mother."
"Lilly." He leaned his head against her hand that cupped his cheek. "I'm sorry for worrying you."
"You better be." She teared up before standing up, following after her husband and stopping when she saw Zeke. "So this is the obnoxious Titan that was no match for Levi. Do you have PTSD?"
"You must be Lillian." Zeke looked over the woman, shocked at her small stature that held such a powerful reputation. "I was informed all about you."
"Then you must know that I am worse than my husband." A grin made its way to her lips as Levi sent her a small glare, warning her to be careful with her words.
Eren was sat near Zeke, the pair looking strange beside each other. Even though they shared the same father, the pair shared few similarities. Zeke looked very much like their father while Eren was identical to his mother. But the determined look in their eyes were mirrored.
"Was that a gun shot?" Lillian questioned aloud, hearing a familiar sound over the loud cheers of the crew from the other room. "Levi?"
The door behind them creaked open, startling Mikasa and Armin as Levi casually glanced over his shoulder, wondering what had happened. Jean stood in the doorway with two children tied up.
"Gabi? Falco? Why are you here?" Zeke said with surprise as he looked at the two children.
"Why? Why are you?" Falco stuttered, eyes wide with shock at the man tied up in front of them.
"You're alive? Why did you let them capture you?" Gabi screamed at him, trying to move closer but Jeans tight grip kept them both in place.
"Who are these kids?" Levi walked closer, glaring down at the two children.
"They killed Lobov and used his gear to come aboard." Jean explained to his Captain. "Sasha was shot by this one here. I don't think she's gonna make it."
"Lillian." He ordered, his voice laced with shock as the doctor nodded in understanding and ran after Mikasa and Armin.
