Lillian sat boredly in the carriage beside Hange, questioning why she was forced to come along as well. Her hands were becoming numb from being bound behind her back.

"What's wrong?" Hange questioned as they spotted Falco fidgeting in distress on the seat across from them.

"It's like my whole body just got electrocuted." Falco stuttered over his words in pain.

"Could it be?" They watched the child with worry but were quickly taken to headquarters where Commandant Sadies stood talking to the 109th Training Cadets.

"Hange?" Sadies stared at them with confusion.

"It's been too long, Commandant." Floch greeted the man as they stepped in front of him. "Sorry, but this branch of the military has changed ownership. I believe you refer to us as the Jaegerists. You'll be following our orders from now on."

"It sounds like you know where you stand, Floch." The Cadet Commandant said, mocking the boy. "If pissants like you can't face anyone without a gun to point at them, you certainly-" He was cut off by a bullet hitting beside his foot.

"Floch!" Hange said in shock, trying to stop the boy from killing everyone.

"I missed." Floch grumbled before lowering his gun. "I thought I'd shoot him in the leg to make things quicker."

"Make what quicker?"

"Oh, nothing to do with you." He waved off the Commandants question and walked forwards. "We have no use for an old man whose only virtue is having an abnormally thick skull. From now on, men and women of the Training Corps! This is your age. We, the Jaegerists, have sworn to dedicate our hearts to the task of saving Eldia in this, her darkest hour!"

"Huh, I thought it was pretty bright at this hour." Hange snickered at the doctor's small comment.

"We do this not for the antiquated military of the past, but the people living on this island in the present!" Floch continued, not hearing Lillian's joke. "Remaining subordinate to an obsolete military will leave us powerless to resist our enemies in the outside world, leading to our destruction! Now I ask you. Who are you? Will you survive along with Eren Jaeger, Eldia's leader? Or will you die here with Keith Sadies and his old ways?"

One by one soldiers stepped forwards and saluted the crazy man. Lillian rolled her eyes and straightened her back as she prepared for hell.

"We dedicate our hearts for the future of Eldia!" They said in unison.

"Excellent! Now show me your resolve." Floch nodded at them proudly. "Beat Commandant Sadies until he can no longer stand. He embodies all of the old, evil ways that need to be culled. Purge him! Any who can't will be thrown into a cell!"

"Enough of this, Floch!" Hange tried to stop him. "This madness has gone on for too long!"

"Hange!" Sadies raised his hand to silence the woman. "No matter how many of these greenhorns come together, they're no match for me!"

Lillian had to hide her eyes as her old friend was beaten nearly to death by the Training Corps. Both her and Hange yelling for them to stop.

"Well done." Floch complimented the cadets as he stared down at the beaten man. "Welcome to our ranks, all of you. Now, why don't you take us to Zeke's meeting place?" But they didn't move. "Commander Hange. Come on, let's go."

"I need to save him." Lillian pulled against the rope, her wrists burning as it cut into her skin. "Let me go! I need to help him."

"Shut up." He snapped at her, standing in her face. "Or you'll be next."

"Try me." She stood tall, a brow raised as she challenged him. "I was taught to fight by Captain Levi Ackerman and we all know he wasn't trained by the military."

"Keep your mouth shut." Floch threw the end of his gun into her stomach but she easily dodged it, eyes widening as she remembered she had a child to protect. He tried again but she once again slipped out of his way.

"It's no use, Floch." Hange warned him, watching Lillian smirked at the frustrated boy. "She's just as deadly as Levi."
