i don’t think we fear darkness itself 

i believe we fear the unknown 

in the dark

we don’t know if danger 

is miles or inches away from us

we fear the unexpected

some people don’t show it as much

but others do

i think the people who are one the brink of death

the ones who are staring at death in the face

they are the strongest

humans are all too mortal

we all fear death

even though we know it will all happen at some point

we fear the thought that it could happen at any time

we could die years from now 

or we could die seconds from now

suicide is told to be a sin

i’m not quite sure why

but i do have a theory

i think suicide is a sin because its the one thing we can control

because we are turning the tables on God

He is in charge of what we do in our lives

but if we choose to

we can control how and where and when we die

we fear the unknown 

all of humankind fears death

we could be at the brink of death and not even know it

but we don’t fear the darkness

we fear what the darkness conceals from us.
