Saturday night, Grace and I decided to go to the movies, again. That's all there is to do in this small town.
"Will you go get the seats? I need to use the bathroom." I said and Grace nodded, walking towards the theaters room. I turned to walk towards the bathroom and collided into someone really hard, knocking us both to the floor.
"Shit, I'm so sorry." I mumbled, looking up.
"Hey, it's no problem, don't worry about it. Accidents happen." The guy said, "Jaxon." He said introducing himself, smiling, showing a full set of white teeth.
"Ellie." I said, smiling back. He quickly got up and held out a hand for me. I gladly accepted it and he helped me up.
"Did you just move here?" He asked as we kinda just stood in the middle of the room, in everybodys way. Everyone was staring at us, just gawking. Like wide-eyed, jaw to the floor gawking. Probably because we were in everyone's way.
"Yeah." I said, blushing. He was really attractive. He had dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, wearing an oversized, red flannel that was buttoned-up, black jeans, all black Vans, and his hair was swept across his forehead with a beanie on. I then realized that he was the guy that was smirking at me in the hall the other day.
"What movie are you here to see?" He asked, looking me in the eyes.
"We're, uh, here to see, um, uh, 'Project Almanac,' I think." I said, and he chuckled.
"So am I, want to sit by each other?" He asked, raising his eyebrows slightly.
"Sure, uh, yeah." I responded, not able to stop stuttering. I couldn't help it, he was so damn hot. He nodded and jerked his head slightly.
"Want to go sit down?" He said and checked his phone, "I'm pretty sure the movie should actually be starting any second now." He added.
"Yeah, I have to use the bathroom first." I said, remembering.
"Okay, I'll wait for you. That okay?" I nodded and walked in the bathroom.
After I was done peeing, I washed my hands and walked out.
"Ready?" He asked, putting his phone in his back pocket. I nodded and we walked into the theater room. I finally spotted Grace and sat down next to her. Luckily, there was an extra spot next to me.
"Who's that?" Grace whispered to me.
"His name is Jaxon, I literally knocked him over." I explained as the lights in the room darkened.
"Carter?" She asked, shock in her voice.
"No, I said his name is Jaxon." I explained, whispering louder.
"I know that. I meant is his last name Carter?" She asked, putting the extra emphasis on the word 'last.'
"Oh, I don't know his last name." I said shrugging. I just met him, how am I to know his last name?
She leaned forward and looked to my side then leaned back in her seat. "It is! That's Jed's cousin. Damn, who knew you were into bad boys!" She whispered, "props to you. He's hot."
I chuckled and decided not to respond, the movie was starting.
After the movie was over, the three of us walked out into the lobby, throwing our excess trash away in the process.
"I'll be out in your car waiting." Grace announced, while sending me a smirk.
Jaxon waited until Grace was out of earshot to begin talking. "So, uh, that was fun." He said, rocking back and forth slightly on his heels, with his hands clasped behind his back.
"It was."
"We should do that again sometime."
"We should." I said and met his eyes. I never realized how attractive he actually was. He had some slight stubble, his eyes, they were just so blue.
"Let me see your phone." He said, "only if you want to give it to me." He added quickly, blushing slightly.
I quickly fished my phone out of my purse and handed it too him. He then handed me his. I typed in my number quickly. After he was done, we switched phones and walked outside.
"So, I guess I'll see you soon?" He asked, looking up from the ground, hope in his eyes.
"I guess you will." I said, chuckling.
"That was a cool, date type of thing." He said, nonchalantly, "if you classify that as a date. I mean, it doesn't have to be a date." He added, he was so nervous. It was adorably cute.
"No, no. I definitely enjoyed our 'date.'" I said, smiling. He was so relaxed one moment, then the next he was being all awkward and cute.
"Great, me too. I'll have to take you on a proper one sometime." He said, smirking slightly.
"Yes you will." I said, smiling again.
"I'll see you around, Ellie." He said, smiling, backing up.
"Bye, Jaxon." I said. We exchanged waves and I got in my car while he got in his.
A few minutes later down the road, after I had gotten home, I received a text.
*Hey, um, it's Jaxon.*
