"Is that the last of the boxes, sweetie?" My dad asked as soon as we walked into the house.
"I think so."
"Good. You ready for your first day of school tomorrow?"
"Honestly, no I'm not. I'm terrified." I admitted. He got up and walked over to me, giving me a side hug.
"You'll do perfectly fine." He reasurred me. He then let go of me and sat back down at the bar stool at the counter.
"I hope I make some friends." I said while walking over to the pantry and getting a jar of peanut butter out, followed by a slice of bread.
"You'll make tons of friends." My dad said as I got a knife out of the drawer and started spreading the creamy stuff over the slice of bread.
"I hope so." I said taking a bite.
I put the bread and peanut butter up, followed by putting the knife in the sink. I talked with my dad for a few more minutes.
"You want to go to a movie or something tonight? Ya know, before school starts and your scheduale gets too busy for your old man." He said smiling.
"Sure. Let me go get my shoes and coat." I jogged down the hall and slipped on my furry boots, followed by a coat and sock cap. I grabbed my phone and walked back into the living room.
We walked out the door and got into the car. It was snowing lightly, not enough to cancel school or anything, I'm not that lucky.
"What do you want to watch?" He asked as we pulled out of the driveway.
"I don't care. What's showing?"
"We could see 'Into The Woods'? I think it came out a few days ago." He suggested.
"Sure. I've been wanting to see that for a while now." I said and he nodded, making his way to the theater.
When we got to the theater, we bought the tickets, a large popcorn, and two large slushies. I followed my dad to the room showing the specific movie we wanted to see and walked in. The room was packed. After searching for a few minutes, my dad finally found two open spots. I played on my phone until the previews ended and the movie started.
When the movie ended, we threw our excess things away and went to Taco Bell for dinner. We got home and I went straight to my room, telling my dad goodnight. I wanted an early night tonight since I have a big day tomorrow. I quickly showered and changed into sleep pants and a sweatshirt. I double-checked everything, making sure I had every supply, and that my outfit was just right for tomorrow. When I was sure I had it all, I crawled into bed and watch a little TV before drifting off into a deep sleep.
The next morning I woke up and went into the kitchen to make breakfast.
"Good morning, honey." My dad said, walking into the kitchen, making a cup of coffee.
"Morning." I said, taking another bite of my cereal.
After I finished eating, I went back to my room and put the outfit I picked out last night on. I slipped on a pair of dark wash jeans, a white tank top, a cream knit sweater, with a pair of brown combat boots. I walked into the bathroom and let my long, wavy, light blonde hair be. I brushed my teeth and applied some mascara and light eye makeup. I grabbed my backpack and a coat out of my room and walked into the living room.
"You need a ride to school, kiddo?" He asked, taking a sip of his coffee.
"Nah, I'll drive myself. Thanks though." I said grabbing my car keys off the counter. We exchanged quick goodbyes then I got in my car and headed to my new school.
