When I got to school the next day, I met up with Chloe, Grace, and Eli in the gym.

"Hi!" Chloe greeted.

"Hey!"

We talked for a few before the bell rang.

I made it through my first four hours in a breeze, again. Lunchtime couldn't have gotten here fast enough, though.

"So, have you seen any cute guys?" Grace asked while we stood in line waiting to get our trays.

"Not really," I said shrugging, "I haven't really been looking though."

"Not a single person?" She asked, shocked.

"Nope. I'll let you know when I find someone cute." I reassured her.

"You better." She said.

We met up with the rest and sat down at our table in lunch. I quickly ate and dumped my tray, grabbing my backpack.

"Where are you going?" Eli asked.

"Library. I want to see if they have a certain book I want."

"I can go with you?" Chloe asked.

"No, it's okay. You don't have too." I reassured her.

"I insist. I'm done anyway." She said and stood up.

"Okay." I said.

She quickly dumped her tray and grabbed her backpack standing by my side. "Ready?" She asked.

"Yeah." I replied.

"Well let's go then, silly."

We walked out of the lunch room and down the hall. We were walking, making small talk when I saw a shadow out of the corner of my eye. I looked to my right and saw a guy at his locker. He was wearing black jeans, black boots, a black t-shirt, and his blonde hair was swept across his forehead. He was pretty attractive from the side, not going to lie.

He must have noticed me looking because he looked straight at me, smirked, slammed his locker shut while winking in the process and walked away. Holy hell, man.

"Dude, did you hear me?" Chloe asked.

"What? No." I replied while shaking my head slightly. I couldn't help but notice how he was in all black and could pull it off tremendously.

"You okay?" She asked looking concerned. I guess I really wasn't paying attention, "you really zoned out, dude."

"Yeah, yeah. Just got a little distracted thinking about my classes, that's all." I said replied.

"Your classes okay so far? Are you having any trouble with them?" She questioned.

"Yeah." I replied shortly. She still looked concerned but didn't say anything and changed the topic.

We walked into the library and I immediately went to the front desk. Chloe told me she was going to look for a certain book for herself too.

"May I help you, young lady?" The sweet, old lady asked, closing her Word Search book.

"Do you have the book 'Where She Went'?"

"I'm not sure. Hold on, please," she said and started typing, "it says that we have no copies left, but this system is all messed up. We could possibly have a copy or two or none. I'm not sure. I could go look for you." She said and started getting up.

"No, no. That's fine. I can look myself, don't worry."

"Are you sure sweetie?" She asked, raising her eyebrows slightly.

"Yes, ma'am," I nodded, "Thank you, Mrs. Pratt."

"Oh, sure thing, honey. Good luck in finding your book." She said and opened up her book continuing her word searches.

I walked towards the shelves searching for the authors last name. When I finally found the shelve marking it, I skimmed through it. Sure enough, there was one copy left.

I walked up to the desk and checked it out. I saw Chloe standing by the door engrossed in a book. "You ready to go?"

She looked up, "yeah. Let's go in the gym and wait for the rest of them." She said putting her bookmark in and closing the book.

We made our way to the gym and sat down against the wall, waiting. I decided to start on my book, considering Chloe was so engrossed in that book she clearly forgot I was sitting by her. But that's okay, I've been dying to read my book too.

I looked at the book in my hands for a moment before opening it and reading the first page. Not even four pages into the book, when there was a presence over me. It was Grace.

"Where's Eli?" I questioned.

"Bathroom."

I closed the book and stood up beside her. Chloe was still engrossed in that book, not even noticing when Eli walked up beside Grace.

"What's she reading anyway?" She asked looking down at Chloe.

"I think she's reading 'The Fault In Our Stars'."

"Oh, she's been wanting to read that for a while now."

Grace continued to read her book while the three of us talked until the bell rang. The last half of the day went by pretty quickly. When the last bell rang, I raced out the doors and into my car, quickly driving home.
