I woke up in the middle of the night to see Jaxon's arms wrapped around mine. It was slightly nippy in the room.
"You got cold," Jaxon mumbled, "I put extra blankets on you but you were still shivering. I'm sorry, I'll go get back on the floor," he said and unwrapped his arms from around me.
"No, it's okay. I'm not as cold anymore." I said and pulled his arms back.
"Are you sure?"
"Positive." I said and felt him lay down next to me again. I was instantly asleep, again.
~~
"Good morning, babe." Jaxon said when I walked into the kitchen, walking over to me and wrapping his arms around me in a hug.
"Good morning." I smiled into his chest.
"I was just helping my mom with breakfast." He said as he pulled away from me.
"Can I help?" I asked as I walked towards the counter where his mom, Lilly, was.
"No, no, no, honey. You are our guest, and guests don't do any work here in this house, ain't that right, Jaxy?"
"That's right. So, go sit your cute little butt on the stool or on the couch and let us cook for you." He said while leading me towards a stool by the bar counter in the kitchen.
"Are you sure? I insist that I at least-"
"I said no, babe," he said laughing, "now just sit and chat, nothing else."
"Fine." I grumbled and sat down. Jaxon and his mom chuckled.
"So did you enjoy staying here, Ellie?" Lilly asked.
"Yes, ma'am. Thank you for letting me stay."
"Oh, you're welcome sweetie!" She said as she poured pancake batter into a pan. "Did you too do any frickle frackling last night?"
"Oh, Christ." Jaxon mumbled while putting his head in his hands. "Mom, really?"
"Oh, honey, don't be shy. There's nothing to be embarrassed about. I'm okay with it, I just want to make sure I'm not going to be a grandmother in nine months or so."
"Well, thanks for the worry, but nothing happened last night." Jaxon said.
"Okay, I believe you," she said, flipping a pancake, "so, what are you two planning on doing today?"
"Nothing, probably, maybe just lounge around and watch movies and do nothing. Right, babe?"
"Yeah, doing nothing is our best talent." I said and Lilly chuckled.
"Awesome. I need to run a few arrands after breakfast, will you two be okay home alone? I assume you will, but I just want to make sure." She said, putting a plate each in front of us with two pancakes on each.
"Thank you." I said.
"Yeah, thanks, mom."
"You two are very welcome," she said setting syrup, butter, and peanut butter on the bar in front of us, "Jaxy told me you love peanut butter on your pancakes so I got it for you."
"Thanks." I said, already smearing peanut butter all over my pancakes.
"No problem, honey. Now, you two will be okay?"
"Yeah, we'll be fine." Jaxon said.
"Good. I'm going hurry up and eat my breakfast and go get ready." She said, grabbing her plate of pancakes and heading upstairs.
"I'm sorry for my mom asking that question." Jaxon said, cutting his pancakes into pieces.
"It's okay," I said as I swallowed a piece of pancake, "at least she's worried about us."
"Yeah, I agree, but that's still embarrassing."
"It's okay, really." I said, laying my hand on top of his.
"Good," he said taking a bite of his food, "so, what movie shall we watch first?"
"I don't care. What do you want to watch?"
"I don't care." We sat in silence for a couple minutes while we finished off our last few bites of pancakes before we got up to put them in the sink.
"Can we play video games all day?" I asked, placing my plate in the sink before running hot water over it for a few seconds to get some of the syrup off.
"Of course," he replied smiling, "why wouldn't I want to play video games with my girl all day?" He finished, wrapping his arms around me in a hug.
"Mmm?" I mumbled into his shirt, muffled by his arm.
"Want to go play now, or, like, just wait? I don't care, I mean, it's totally up to you. I don't care what we do. Do you want to go ahead and play, or just wait?" He asked, rambling on, getting nervous.
"Yeah, yeah, we can go play now," I said, chuckling, "you're so cute when you get nervous." I added while reaching up and ruffling his hair, making in stick up slightly. He blushed.
"Alright, let's go, babe," I followed him into the living room, "what do you want to play first?" He asked once we got into the living room.
"I don't care."
"We'll play Call of Duty. I know how much you love that game."
"Alright," I said and smiled.
He slipped the disc into the game console and walked over to the couch and plopped down, handing me a controller.
"Ready for me to kick your ass, babe?" He asked, smirking.
"No. Are you ready for me to kick your ass?" I asked, correcting him him a smirk.
"Oh, sassy, aren't we?"
"Maybe just a little, but only when I know I'm right." I said, smirking again.
"Alright, let's just see who's the best," he challenged, "let's make a bet."
"Okay, name your price."
"Well, if I win, you get to stay again."
"And if I win, you get to take me out to Taco Bell, a movie, rub my feet and give me a massage, and stay the night tonight."
"Damn," he said, "you really drive a hard bargain."
"I know. I want to make sure I get someting good out of it if I win."
"Deal," he said, holding out his hand to shake, "may the best one win."
"You're going down, honey."
"Oh no, you're going down, honey." He corrected.
"Shut up and let's start," I said, putting a finger over his lips to shut him up, until he licked my finger then playfully bit it, "ow! That hurt, butthole." I said and jerked it away while he laughed hysterically, "just for that, I'm raising my side of the deal to a foot massage and a back rub for a week straight."
"Deal, not like you're going to win anyway."
"We'll see, babe." I said and sat down right next to him.
