The following two Friday's later, Jaxon and I decided to go on our second official date, not counting the movie we watched the night we met.
"Where to next?" Jaxon asked, starting the car, "I mean, only if you want to go somewhere else." He added. We had just finished going go-carting and playing laser tag.
"Starbucks?" I suggested.
"Sure." He put the car in reverse and pulled out onto the road, turning on the radio. SoMo's rendition of 'Young & Beautiful' by Lana Del Rey started playing.
I watched as he weaved in and out of traffic, his left hand on the steering wheel, the other resting his lap, humming along to the words. I took in what he was wearing. He had on black jeans, a black t-shirt, a blue and white flannel, with his hair quiffed up again.
"You look good." I blurted out before I could realize what I had said and stop myself. I mentally cursed myself out, "I didn't mean to say that, not that you don't look good. Oh my God, you know what I mean."
"I get what you mean. And thank you." He said smiling, while glancing over at me, "you look pretty good too."
"Thanks." I said blushing.
"No problem."
A few minutes later, we arrived at Starbucks. We got out and walked inside, him holding the door open for me. When we got inside, he grabbed my hand. I noticed that he was wearing black combat boots.
"Hey, I like your boots." I said pointing at them.
"Hey, I like yours too." He said pointing at them.
"Hey, thanks."
"Hey, you're welcome." He said and I startes laughing at how dumb this conversation was. Jaxon started laughing along also.
"Hello, my name is Wen, what can I get you tonight?" The guy, Wen, said when we got to the counter.
"I'll have a small hot chocolate, please." I said while taking out my wallet.
"I'll have a meduim hot chocolate, extra chocolate." Jaxon said, grabbing my wallet. I look at him, confused. He then shoved it back in my satchel.
"I'm paying, babe."
"No, no, no. I can pay for myself." I defended.
"I will not let you pay for yourself. That is not the gentlemanly thing to do." He said taking money out of his wallet.
"Just let me pay for myself, just this one time?" I asked, giving him puppy dog eyes.
"Sorry, honey, but I'm paying."
"Fine." I grumbled and stalked over to a table.
"You're not seriosuly mad, are you, baby?" He asked, concern lacing his voice.
"I just wish you would've let me pay. We've only known each other for about three and a half weeks, and we aren't dating, I was just wanting to pay for myself instead of you wasting your money on me." I said.
"I don't care if we've only known each other for three weeks, I like you. I don't care if we aren't dating, let's change that. And me paying for you is never me wasting my money, so don't ever think that." He said, looking straight into my eyes.
"Okay." I said.
"So let's change something. Ellie Thomas, I know we've only known each other for three and a half weeks, but I really like you. So, would you, um, be my girlfriend?"
"Yes, I would love to." I said smiling.
"Great," he said smiling, "our orders ready, I'll go get it."
Afterward, we took our drinks to go and Jaxon took me home.
Hey, sorry this update took forever, and that it's so short. Been super busy. Thanks for everyone of you that read my book! You don't know how much I appreciate it. Don't forget to comment&vote! Xx -Amelia
