I was in my room, going through my closet to pick out an outfit for school tomorrow when my phone started ringing.
"Hello?" I said into the receiver.
"We have no school tomorrow!" Grace shouted into the phone.
"Are you serious? How do you know?"
"Look outside; it's snowing! My mom just got the call!" She shouted.
I walked to the window, moving the curtains. Sure enough, it was snowing pretty hard. It looked so pretty outside. The snow was covering everything like a blanket, turning everything completely white.
"Oh my God!" I shouted, "I'm so happy!"
"So am I!" She shouted back, "we should hang out tonight or something. Wanna come over?"
"Uhm, hold on, let me go ask my dad." I said and jogged out of the room, meeting my dad in the living room.
"What's up, sweetie? School's out." He stated.
"I know, I'm excited about it. Grace's on the phone and wants to know if I want to stay the night there."
"I don't know," dad said hesitantly, "I wouldn't mind any other night, but I don't want to risk the chance of you getting snowed in for a couple of days. If it's okay with Grace and her parents, she could stay here?" I nodded and explained the situation to her. Her parents agreed.
"She'll be over in a few. Want me to help with dinner?" I asked.
"I'll do it, kiddo." He swatted his hand in the air.
"All right."
"Go clean your room or something and get ready for your company." He chuckled lightly thinking he was clever. I just nodded and went into my room letting him think whatever he wanted.
I picked up the couple of shirts that were laying in the floor and threw them into the hamper. I laid down on bed, putting my headphones on, and listened to some music.
I was listening to Twenty One Pilots with my eyes closed when I felt someone hit me. I jumped slightly and opened my eyes in alarm, seeing Grace.
"Morning, Sleeping Beauty. Wipe the drool off your face." She greeted me and sat down on the edge of my bed. I did as she said and wiped at my face.
"So, what do you want to do?"
"I don't care."
"I can see if Chloe can come over; we can watch movies?" I suggested and she nodded.
We walked downstairs and talked to my dad about it. He agreed happily.
"Thank you!" I shouted and hugged him.
When we got back in my bedroom, I called Chloe. She agreed to come and brought a couple extra pairs of clothes, just in case we get snowed in.
Chloe arrived about ten minutes later, just in time for dinner. We all sat down and ate. Afterward, we changed into pj's and got comfortable on the couch. My dad went into his room because he 'didn't want to interrupt or invade our girl time' no matter how many times we protested.
Two movies later, we decided to take a break from watching movies and just talk.
"So, what should we talk about?" Chloe asked.
"Let's talk about you and Lincoln." Grace said, smirking.
"Lincoln Smith?" I asked and she blushed darting her eyes toward the ground.
"Oh my God! Since when?"
"We've been talking for a few months on the down. He finally asked me out today when we went into the library, he was in there. When I was looking for my book, he snuck behind me surprising me and asked me to make it official." She explained, the blush still on her face.
"I'm so happy for you!"
"Way to go, man!" I cheered.
"Alright, enough about me. Let's talk about you."
"Okay. What about me?" I questioned.
"Are you positive that you don't see any cute guys in school?"
"Yes. My mind hasn't changed since the last time you asked me at lunch." I said, chuckling.
"Oh c'mon. I'm not falling for that bs. I saw you making eyes with someone in the hall."
I hesitate, "When was this?"
"Today, when we were on our way to the library. That's why you zoned out on me. I'm blonde but not stupid. I couldn't see his face though, only the back of him. He looked pretty cute."
"I don't know what your talking about. I didn't 'make eyes' with anyone in the hall." I stated.
"Okay.." she said, not believing me.
"I don't even know who he is."
"So you admit that you made eye contact with him!" She said pointing at me.
"I merely looked over and saw someone at their locker. It was just a glance between two strangers."
She nodded, obviously not believing me but just let it be.
We talked for a little bit longer, Grace calling Eli to talk while Chloe and I watched 'Tammy.' I did at least, Chloe was on her phone the entire time.
"Chloe, Grace, get off your damn phones and spend time with me." I said getting a little aggravated.
"Chill bro." Chloe said while putting her phone down.
"Quiet, Eli's talking." Grace said while holding her hand in the air.
We eventually fell asleep in the living room while watching 'Battle of The Year.'
