I was holding the barrel like it was the last thing on earth.
Luckily I quickly washed up shore and feeling heavy from the water and tired from the last few days I layed down for a while. Mine troath hoarse from the seawater.
But I knew I couldn't stay here in the burning heat and I started mine adventure inwards to hopefully find a village. I knew I was now further away from Jamie and Eilidh. But I had big worries on mine mind now and that was staying alive.
I tried to remember the basis rules of survival that I picked up from the shows I watch out of boredom when I was pregnant and the first thing that I needed was water and shelter from the heat. Shelter was a plenty in the rainforest. Fresh sweet water not.
As the night fell I collapsed under a tree and was awake enough to make a fire before it went dark.To be honest I was suprised that I woke up the next morning. Only because I was covered in fire ants.
With lots of swears and a weird head, shoulders, knees and toes later I was released from it and I continued mine journey. Gratefull for the wind which provided some cold against the warm and humid climate of the rainforest which made me dizzy and a bit delirious. With a few drops of water on the leaves of plant I made I through another day before I sat down at another three.
"Where ever you are Jamie please provide for our daughter," I sent a prayer out into the night sky. "She is all what she has left now," and with that I fell into sleep again.A couple of days later. I was amazingly still alive. Although I was still covered in now infected fireant bits and almost choked by an anaconda in my sleep.
I suddenly heared singing and a goats. Expecting it to be a trick of mind and I was know officially mad. I collapsed on the ground. Giving all hope up.A voice in Spanish woke me up and when I tried to sit up I figured out I was tied to a bed.
"Water," I managed to bring out and the person behind the voice appeared and she gave me water before rushing of complaining in Spanish.
Quickly after her a men walked in and sat down.
"Ludo found you on the path the other day," he turned around towards a dog. "We both where concerned about your well being."
"Where am I?" I managed to speak and his eyes litted up.
"An English woman!" He proclaimed. "What a fortune. Father Forden. Your obedient servant Madame. Welcome to Hacienda de la feunta,"
"Please untie me," I begged him and he did what he was told. Lifting me up and gave me glass of water.
"Don't drink to quickly," he said and I nodded.
"Where are we?" I asked. "Beside this place."
"The Island of Saint-Dominque," I swore a little.
"I need to go to Jamaica. Mine husband and daughter are sailing there," I sat up and he stopped me.
"There is a village, a days walk from here and then I took two days to sail to Jamaica," he told me.
"I can make that," I wanted to sit up again but he stopped me.
"No it's far to dangerous. Coco says you might encounter Marons," he stood up.
"Coco?" I asked in suprise and decide to take another sip.
"Ah yes, sorry did not formally introduced her," he stood up and walked towards a shelf and picked up a coconut. "Meet Coco." He turned it towards me and I raised mine eyebrows even more.
I was officially not crazy anymore.A/n: I'm going to skip the entire part where Claire is with Father Fogden. It doesn't at much to this story I feel.
Ofcourse I will keep in the wedding part and a small suprise. Not sure if it is durning the wedding or after 😊
So yeah I skip the fight on board of the Artemis and everything else and this story is going to be shorter but don't fear. Book 4 is hopefully going to be much longer.
