Eden is getting discharged soon and him and Day are going to come and sleep at my place. Metias will be the "responsible adult" until Eden and Day move into their apartment, with their new caretaker. We're incredibly lucky because a new apartment right across from my house was up for rent, it's even closer than our houses were before.
Right now I'm busy making up beds for them and making dinner. Metias doesn't get home until 10 tonight so we'll save some food for him. It took a little convincing for him to let Eden and Day stay but he gave in quickly, always a softie.
I hear a knock and move to open the door. I'm met with two grinning blonde boys. "Get your butts in here you weirdos" I laugh. Day guides Eden over to the sofa where he sits down and begins tinkering with some sort of metal, box. Honestly I have no clue what he's doing. "Day, can you come help me make dinner?" I ask him.
"No need" He grins and holds up a McDonald's bag.
"Oh my lord Day, you are a truly magical person! I thought I was going to actually have to cook."
"Did you really think after knowing you for so long I would trust your cooking? No way! That stuff is poisonous!" He says and Eden snickers from the sofa.
"Should we watch a movie?" Day suggests
"Yeah but it has to be something I've seen before, or I'm going to have no clue what's going on." Eden calls.
"Isn't there something that describes what happening?"
I laugh again, "Are you trying to say audio descriptions?"
"Yeah, that thing! It says everything that's happening on the screen as well as the dialogue."
"I guess we could try that" says Eden. "What do you guys want to watch?"
"I think the more important question is what do you want to watch?" I say back
"I could care less" he says and shrugs.
"STAR WARS MARATHON IT IS!!" Shouts Day.
Eden and I both groan. "I take it back" says Eden, "I do care"
"Nope! Too late, you made your choice."
"Fine. But I make no promises that I'll actually pay attention."
"That is fine by me!"
We grab our McDonalds and sit on either side of Eden. When I look in the bag I see that Day got a total of 12 burgers. "Good lord Day, you know there's only 3 of us."
"4 if you count Metias." He retorts, "and when was the last time you saw Eden eat McDonald's? It's impressive."
"I'm not denying anything." Eden states matter-of-factly.
"You guys are hilarious. This is why I'm friends with you dorks."
"You know you love us." Day says grinning at me again. Eden stretches out on top of us, resting his head on my thigh and his legs on Daniels as we dig into the giant pile of burgers.
~
We are half an hour into the first movie and everything has already gone to hell. At some point Day made popcorn and now half of it lies all over the floor, crushed into the carpet. We are all covered in blankets and pillows. There are so many damned pillows! I have no idea where they all came from. Every now and then one gets thrown across the room which causes Day and Eden to freak out and start chucking them everywhere.
We also have music playing on top of the movie and I have no clue how Eden hasn't had a sensory overload. He must be used to this kind of chaos. I made the mistake of bringing out Dr. Pepper, so now, none of us is ever going to sleep again.
