When I wake up, Eden is still out like a light, small head resting on my thigh but Day is sitting up and grinning at me. "He's sleeping, we're alone, let's go make out." He whispers, smile growing bigger by the second.
"You could only dream," I say, faking resistance.
"You're right, I did dream about kissing you. Now let's go make my dream a reality."
"Fine but not in here," I glance around, "I'll get claustrophobic, also, I require more room to be...productive." His eyes glow with happiness at my last statement.
Standing up he tugs me along. I lay Eden's head down on a pillow, tuck blankets in around him and then follow Day out. He sits down on the couch and I straddle him, gripping his shoulders and connecting our lips as soon as possible.
His hands seem to touch me in the best places, trailing light fingers down my back, gripping harder when he reaches my butt and thighs. He leaves small, light kisses in a line from my temple to the hem of tank top. I run my fingers through his hair, rocking back and forth slightly, arching my back. I'm in complete and utter heaven.
As soon as I think this, I hear a clink and my brother walks into the room, freezing. I freeze as well, making eye contact and holding it, unable to look away. After a few seconds, Day stops, giving me a confused look. Then he sees Metias glaring at him. "Shit! Metias I-"
"Don't. Just don't say anything." Metias cuts him off, sighing. "I'm going to walk into that room and then Daniel and only Daniel will follow me. Ok?" Day nods vigorously.
I swing myself off of him and he gets up, shooting me one more glance before he closes the door behind him and Metias. I sit on the couch, trying to slow my heartbeat. I hope my brother doesn't kill Day, I don't think he will though, that's not what Metias is like.
A few minutes goes by and Day comes out of the room looking flustered. He walks over and slumps down next to me. "What did he say?" I ask, worried.
"He basically just described all the gruesome things he would do to me if I hurt you."
I laugh, "Just don't hurt me." He smirks. "I'm not worried though. Not only are you my new boyfriend, you're also my best friend."
"I am, aren't I." He says thoughtfully. He pulls me in close and I close my eyes, enjoying just being next to him. I feel regretful about how I acted when he confided his feelings for me the other day but there's nothing that I can do now other than stay close and tell him I love him.
"I love you Day." I say.
"I love you to June." We sit there, deciding the heated moment is over and just enjoying each others company.
Just then Eden calls from the fort. "Daniel?" his voice is quiet and he sounds terrified. I begin to get up but Day pushes me back down.
"Yeah Eden?" He calls out and I'm surprised by him. It must be taking a lot of self control not to climb into the fort and comfort his brother. I know that I want to.
"Where am I?" Eden sounds less scared now but still shaken.
"You're in the blanket fort, remember? June and I are out here on the couch, come join us." He takes a deep breath and leans in close to me. "Am I doing the right thing?" He whispers. He sounds incredibly stressed. "I'm trying to get him to be more independent."
I nod in response, reassuring him. "I think that's a good idea." Eden comes stumbling out feeling around with his hands. Day tenses up beside me.
"Coffee table!" I call out just in time. He is able to dodge the corner, saving his probably already bruised shin.
