Day is acting really weird and I can't figure out why. Ever since the ride earlier, he has been avoiding eye contact and just being strange in general. Right now we are trying to figure out how to read the map of the park which is weirdly one of the hardest things I've ever done. They make it way more complicated than it needs to be.

"I think the funnel cake place is right around the corner," says Metias.

"No, it's literally on the other side of the park," I retort. "Day, come here and tell us what you think."

"Huh?" He looks over at me, confused

"Where is the funnel cake place?"

"Oh, I saw that a few minutes ago, it's that way." I stare at him.

"Seriously. What is with you today?"

He looks down at the ground, wringing his hands, "Oh, nothing,"

"Ok, that is the most obvious lie I've ever seen."

"Yeah Daniel, even I can tell you're lying." Eden agrees with me.

"Thank you, Eden!"

"Whatever," Day says "if you want funnel cake, follow me" I roll my eyes, doing as he says. When we get there Metias buys two to share and we eat.

I try to do things to make Day pay attention to me like stealing his food right off of his fork and sitting right up next to him, but that just seems to make it worse. Eventually, I give up. He'll come to his senses at some point.

We spend the entire day at the park, moving from ride to ride, stopping now and then to eat. Eden has more energy than I thought possible and soon Day and I are exhausted from carrying him. Metias takes a few turns but when he does it, they both look so awkward it's funny.

Eventually, I get tired and Metias and I start sitting out on rides. When it starts to get dark we eat dinner and walk out to the car. Right as he is about to climb in, Metias gets a phone call. He walks away and answers it. From what I can see, he doesn't look very happy about whatever he's being told.

When he comes back over I ask him, "Who was that?"

"That," he sighs, "was my boss. He needs me to come in for a night shift."

"Oh, man. That sucks." I give him an apologetic look.

"Yeah, when we get home I'm going to need you guys to just hop out, then I'm going to go in. I figure the earlier I start, the earlier I can come home."

"Ok. We'll be out of the house when you come back so you can sleep."

"Sounds good. Thanks, June." I give him a quick hug and climb into the car with Day and Eden.

Most of the car ride is silent, all of us are pretty worn out. I lean my head against the headrest and look out of the window. You can see so many stars tonight it's gorgeous. A few wisps of clouds float past, making completely black spots.

I didn't mean too but I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I know, Day is picking me up and out of the car seat. I hear him tell Eden to hold onto his shirt so he doesn't trip. I bury my face in Day's chest, wrapping my arms around his neck and closing my eyes. Soon I hear the door open and Day walks upstairs. Then I'm lying in my bed and I'm asleep.

I wake up to the sound of my alarm. I'm surprised because I knew I needed to set it so we could be out of the house by the time Metias gets home but I obviously didn't do it last night. I guess Metias must have told Day to do it.

Getting up, I walk downstairs and start setting things out for breakfast. No one else is awake so I go into the guest room. Both brothers are sprawled out on their beds, blonde hair scattered on their pillows. I step over to Eden's bed, nudging him gently. He sits up abruptly, gasping and wrapping his arms around himself. "Hey! Hey, it's just me." I say putting my hands on his shoulders.

"Oh, ok." he sighs in relief, head slumping down.

"Are you ok?" I ask, giving him a worried look.

"Yeah," he nods his head. "Yeah I'm fine" He doesn't look fine though. He's shaking slightly and his eyes are wide and dilated, making his scars more prominent. I decide not to push.

I sigh, "Ok, but if you ever want to talk to me about it you can."

"Thanks, June" He runs his hands through his hair.

I smile, "Here," I hold my hand out for him and he takes it after a few tries. "Hey, how funny would it be if we drew on Day's face? He was acting really weird yesterday and I need payback." He grins in my general direction, face lighting up.

"Now that is a good idea if you've ever had one." I laugh and pull him off the bed by his hand.

"Come on, let's go find a marker."

When we find one in a junk drawer, we sneak back into the room, tiptoeing up to the bed. "Would you like the honor?" I ask Eden.

"Let's do it together." He holds the marker in his hands and I hold his in mine.

"What are we thinking? Goatee and evil eyebrows?" He snickers

"Sounds good to me" We draw it on, being as gentle as possible. When we're done I hide the marker in my pocket.

I reach out and tap his shoulder. Slowly he opens his eyes, looking around confused. Eden is trying his best to look like he just woke up while simultaneously holding in a laugh.

"Why in the world are you waking me up at 7 am?" Day asks groggily

"We need to eat and go look at your new place," I say, using all of my self-control. He looks so freaking stupid. When he talks his goatee moves up and down.

"Well 'our new place' can bite me in the ass." He closes his eyes again and I laugh.

"Fine, I'm giving you 10 minutes, then I'm coming back in and you better be awake." He grumbles and turns away, pulling the covers over his head.

I lead Eden out of the room, closing the door behind us and when we are safely in the living room, we both burst out laughing. "Oh my god! When he talked his beard moved!" I say falling onto the sofa.

"I can literally picture it!" Eden says, wiping his eyes.

"Oh here." I pull out my phone, "I took a picture while he was still sleeping" He takes it and holds it up right to his face, squinting his eyes. Then he falls off of the sofa laughing. I roll onto the ground next to him, snorting. This just makes him laugh harder.

"We, we need-" I take a deep breath "We need to calm the frick down"

"Y-yeah" he agrees.

I stand up and reach down to help him too. "Thanks," he says still giggling

"Here, come get some cereal. I'm starving."

"Ugh same," Once we finish eating I go into Day's room and hop up onto his bed.

"Time to get up mother fucker. It's been 10 minutes!" I jump up and down, throwing a pillow at his head.

"You are truly a devil." he sighs, but he gets up.

"I know. Now come on, your humble abode awaits!"
