I toss my bag on the bed, looking around the room. Well at least he didn't spare any expenses, getting me the presidential suite. "We'll be right outside the door ma'am." One of his assigned men say, standing in the room doorway. I nod, not saying anything more.
I need a relaxing bath for all my over worked muscles. My body warms, thinking about the events from earlier. Oh yes, very worn out.
Slipping in the bathroom I gasp at the luxury of it. The tub was huge! It was basically a mini jacuzzi. Squealing, I run over to start filling it. Opening the cabinets I'm surprised to find it stocked. Bubble bath, soap, shampoo and towels. When I'm not in the office with Jax I forget how rich he is.
Taking out the bubble bath, I pour more than I probably should. The tub instantly starts bubbling up. A strawberry scent filling the room.
I sit on the edge, dipping my finger in to check the temperature. A shrill ringing comes from the other room. I rush to get my phone in case it's Jax calling with news. "Hello?"
"Hello? That's it! It's been so long you don't even know your best friend number!" My eyes widen, pulling the phone away to double check.
"Aly!" I grin, walking back to the bathroom.
"Don't you Aly me! Where have you been? You just went MIA these last few days. Not even sending me a text." I can hear the hurt in her voice, and it makes me feel like a terrible friend. With so much going on I'll admit I did forget about her.
"I'm sorry Aly, so much has changed since we last spoke." Turning off the water I sit on the toilet.
"I have time for you to catch me up." I look longingly at the bath. So much for my relaxing time.
For the next two hours I get Aly caught up on as much as I can. Maybe it wasn't smart telling her about Jax secret life. But he never said I have to keep it a secret. Right?
"Wow," she breathes. "Sounds to me like you need a girls night. And you have the perfect suite for it." I grin at her train of thought.
"Aly, would you like to join me in my secret hideout?" I laugh. The irony was, it really is my secret hideout.
"Hell yeah!" I give her the name of the hotel and room number. She tells me it'll take her about thirty minutes to get here. Enough time for me to jump in my forgotten bath.
I've just gotten out of it, wrapping a robe around my body when someone knocks on the door. Based on how long I was enjoying my bath, I have no doubt that it's Aly. Not bothering to get dressed I rush over to open. "I ordered-" my words stop, staring at the unknown man at my door.
He grins, lunging for me. I scream, he tackles me to the floor. "Stop moving." He pulls a white cloth out of his pocket, holding it over my mouth. I make the mistake of inhaling, not surprised it's drenched in chloroform. "Yes, close your eyes sweetness." I try to fight, but the chemical is fast acting. It's not long before my eyes start closing.
"Wake her up, I'm tired of waiting." Cold water splashes me. I gasp, not only is it cold but I'm dressed only in my robe. My eyes open taking in my surroundings. I'm in some kind of interrogation room, cuffed to a metal chair. A long metal table sits in front of me. "Ahh princess." A voice says somewhere from behind me. I try to look over my shoulder, but find I can't.
"Who are you? What do you want?" I yank on the cuffs, yup there's no getting out of that. Any other time if I woke kidnapped from a safe house, I'd be freaking out. But considering I knew a mafia family wanted my head on a stick, I'm not surprised to be in this situation. I just hope they want to use my as ransom instead of sending a message.
A man dressed in an all grey suit that matches his hair, steps from behind me. He eyes me with a vicious look in his eyes. So this is what it feels like to be considered prey. "No tears? No begging for your life?" He questions with excitement, the idea of me crying almost giving him a boner.
I snort. "Beg for my life? If you wanted me dead I wouldn't be tied to a chair." I was bluffing, I have no idea if he wants me dead or not. But one can only hope.
He chuckles, taking a seat across from me. "Very observant," pulling a knife from under the table, he place it between us. "Though there's still time for me to change my mind."
I give him a cocky smile. "Change your mind then." No matter what he does to me when Jax finds him, it'll be ten times worse. I guess now is a good time to test my endurance for pain. Why was I pushing my luck? Being around Jax too long has clearly made me some kind of masochist.
He leans back in his chair, a smirk on his face. "Dear child, you don't want me to do that."
I open my mouth to ensure him I do. Then realize I'm naked under my robe. I have no type of clothing to slow down any assult. "What do you want from me?"
"You? I did want the king's mafia, but apparently you gave that away." How the hell does he know that? It just happened only a few hours ago. Or well, I think it was hours ago, how long was I knocked out?
"So what do you want now?"
"Revenge." I simply stare. "Your husband killed my son."
My eyes widen. "You're the leader of Red Death." My mom was right, he wasn't dead. Jax dad never killed him.
"Yes I am. And you darling," he leans forward, folding his hands on the table. "you're my bait."
