- Hello Charlotte - I heard in the other end of the line as soon as I accepted the call on my phone from the unknown number

- Who's it? - I asked confused

- Jeez, Mason Lottie - He said and I nodded even though I knew he couldn't see it - Anyway, I hope you're free this Saturday cause you have a bet to pay - He said and I moaned complaining

- Yeah, what do you need me to do? 

- So, is my grandparents wedding vows renewal and I'm not about to show up without a date, so you'll be my plus one, simple as that. - He said and my mouth hanged open 

- You lost it, right? - I said with almost no voice - You want me to come with you to one of the most meaningful events of your family while I know no one?

- First of all they're all very chill so there's no need for all this drama, second you lost a bet so you're coming - He said and I scoffed making him chuckle - I'll pick you up after the game (a/n: let's pretend the game against Burnley was on sat and not sun) - And soon the call was over and I just kept staring at the phone like an idiot before starting to panic and call Amelia.

Saturday, 30th of January

I learned more about Mason's family as the week passed by since I got called by his sister, Stacey to talk about what to wear to the family event and as much as I was freaking out at first, that was very helpful since I knew I wasn't going to be underdressed or overdressed for it.

I also learned I'd be staying for the weekend in Portsmouth, Mason's hometown cause of course we weren't going to drive back to London at night and also we would probably be with a considerable amount of alcohol in our system, so yeah, this couldn't be more awkward

Packing was the most stressful part, it literally felt like I was going to spend the weekend with my boyfriend's family, except this was worst cause how do you explain to someone's family that the reason you're there is because you lost a bet?

Not only I was stressing but Christian and Amelia had paired up to make fun of myself for it and it took any small amount of patience I had with the two alongside with my amazing work, please get the irony, that was killing me slowly since they definitely thought we were robots instead of human beings cause I haven't seen anyone do as much work as I did this week and I mean it.

I looked myself in the mirror after receiving the text from the footballer letting me know he'd be here in 5 minutes.

The dress chosen through FaceTime by me and Stacey was beautiful, it was an old dress I had in my closet and had never used before, it was a beautiful champagne kinda color and it wasn't long so according to the footballer's sister it was perfect for how the event was going to be and after seeing what she was wearing to it, I believed her and stopped the search.

- Holy shit, you look incredible - Mason said when I stepped foot out of the condo entrance locking the gate now behind me

- Who knew you looked good in a suit Mount - I said and he rolled his eyes at me but still kept his famous smirk on his face - I can't believe I'm doing this - I said getting inside his black Mercedes amg GT

- Oh come on, you and Stacey are practically best friends now and my grandpa is super excited to meet you after my mom sent the gossip around the family - He said and I laughed nervously- Why would your grandpa want to meet me for god's sake? - I asked nervous

- My parents may have thought you're my girlfriend - He said without taking his eyes out of the road

- EXCUSE ME? - I screamed at him making him laugh

- I told her you were coming with me and they got super excited and they thought you were my girlfriend, I didn't know until my grandpa called me super excited, I didn't have the heart to tell them - He said scratching the back of his neck

- You're lucky I don't want to break your grandparents heart on their vows renewal day, but you own me Mount - I said pointing at him and he laughed - Please tell me Stacey don't think we're in laws - I said and he denied which made me release my breath

- I told her about the misunderstanding, that was when she asked for your number - He explained and I just calmed myself - We don't need to fake it too much, they'll probably just spoil you and forget about me - He explained and I rolled my eyes

- What do you expect me to tell them how we started dating? Oh god this is going to go bad, you suck Mount

- Just tell how it went, we met through Christian, let's just pretend like it was in October or something and December we started actually dating - He looked at me quickly and I agreed - I'll try my best to not let them steal you away, so at least we're both together - He said and I nodded before starting to manifest that everything was going to be ok

- I promise you my family is one of the most chill people you're ever going to meet.

- I hope you're right Mason or else you better be ready to help me out of a panic attack - I said laughing but hiding a little bit of truth behind it

- Don't worry about it too much, you'll be fine - He said parking in front of the venue with a beautiful garden where the ceremony was being hosted - Ready?

- I think so - I said getting out of his car and meeting him in front of it before he held my hand

- We're a couple from now on - He winked at me and I slapped his arm making him laugh

- Let's go before I turn back to London and leave you by yourself
