Phil POV
"Phil!"
I roll over in my bed, groaning at the screaming that was interrupting my sleep.
"Phil!" Dan screams again. What was he doing?
"PHIL!"
Sighing, I slid out of bed and make my way out to the living room.
"What the actual hell do you want?" I grumble, wiping sleep from my eyes.
"It's nearly eleven o'clock and I'm hungry." Dan replies flatly.
"So...?"
"Well we've been waiting for each other to get up... And we're out of cereal." Dan flashes me his teeth quickly. "So you should cook pancakes."
"Why can't you?"
"Because every time I try to flip a pancake I eviscerate it."
"Fine." I glare at him.
"Love you too honey!" He calls mockingly as I walk to the kitchen.***
About half an hour later I handed Dan a plate of pancakes and flop onto the couch beside him with my own.
"Enjoying your sofa crease?" I ask, nudging him with my elbow.
"It may not look it, but it's extremely comfortable." Dan retorts.
"I'm sure. Well I cooked breakfast so you can order the groceries later."
"But, but, but..." Dan pouts.
"But what?" I laugh.
"Ordering groceries, takes, so much, effort." Dan groans, throwing his head back against the couch.
"Your computer is right next to you." I point out laughing.
"Yes but it's the bringing them in part that's annoying." Dan replies.
"I think you'll live."
Dan punches me in the shoulder. "If I didn't have a delicious plate of pancakes that I forced you to cook in front of me..."
"You'd..." I prompt.
Dan opens his mouth to talk, but closes it again. "I didn't think that far." He admits.***
"You know what really annoys me?" I call to Dan as he finishes putting away the groceries. He appears in the doorway.
"What?"
"Come look at this."
Dan walks over and leans over my shoulder. I scroll through Tumblr, showing him the ten photos in a row, edits or drawings of us kissing. I lean back against the couch.
"We have the best fan base in the world, but it's like their not happy with who we really are."
Dan nods. "Yeah but, we can't change what they think. Don't worry Philip, they obviously like us or they wouldn't put so much time into all this."
I sigh. "I know it's just, everything is 'hashtag Phan' these days. At first it was cool, normal pictures..."
"I know. Now, I'm in the mood for some Dil, how bout you?"
I grin. "I'm in."***
"I can't believe, we almost, killed, Dil!" Dan wheezed, laughing hysterically.
"It's not funny!" I say, but end up laughing.
"Oh god, we are horrible, horrible parents." Dan falls on the couch, hands on his face as he shook with laughter.
"I don't think we'd be that bad with a real human being." I shrug. Dan looks at me flatly. "Maybe not?"
Dan cracks up laughing.
"Wanna play halo?" He asks, pointing at the Xbox.
"But you'll beat me!" I whine.
"That's the point." Dan grins. "Please! Please!"
"Fine." I walk over to the TV to grab the remotes, and start walking backwards to the couch. "Oof!" I trip over the table and land on Dan's lap.
"Hi." He says.
"Ow." I roll off Dan and onto the couch beside him.
"That was borderline lap dance." Dan states with a raised eyebrow. I laugh.
"Just play the game."***
"NO!" Dan screams as I kill him for the tenth time. "When did you get so good at this?"
"I've been practising." I smirk.
"I feel like Starbucks." Dan announces.
"Is this your excuse for losing?" I laugh. Dan gets up and grabs his dementor coat.
"Are you coming or what?"
"I'm coming!" I call and get my space coat. We walk into the bathroom and look into the mirror.
"Fringe check. Coat check. Hood check." We both adjust our hair and I pull up my hood.
"Pull my tail?" Dan asks.
"I still don't understand why this was even invented." I comment as I reach down and grab the string, pulling it tight. "Yoink."***
We walk down the street to the underground.
"Don't get your head stuck." I grin at Dan, earning a slap in the forehead.
"Next time I'll just leave you on the platform." He huffs. I start laughing as a small child walks up to me.
"Go away you ugly monster!" The little boy yells. Dan looks between me and the boy and starts choking back laughter. Within a minute he's full on howling. A young woman, maybe my age, walks over and grabs the boy's hand.
"Timmy!" She cries in embarrassment, looking up at me. "I am so so sorry."
Suddenly Dan falls silent, staring at the woman with a strange expression. I frown at him before turning back to the woman.
"It's fine." I chuckle. "I've had weirder things happens."
She smiles gratefully. "Thank you for not making a big deal, this is my stop. Maybe I'll see you around."
"Bye." I wave. Dan scoffs. The lady and her son walk off the tube. I turn to Dan and smirk.
"So, you were looking at her strangely." I nudge him with my elbow, raising my eyebrow. "Something caught your fancy."
"I don't like her." Dan says firmly. "If anything she liked you."
There was something about Dan's tone that was setting me on edge. He was being really snippy and defensive, which wasn't like him at all. The tube drew up to our stop, and we walk out on to the platform.
"You okay Dan?" I ask in concern. He sighs.
"I'm fine Phil, promise, I just didn't like her, that's all." He bumps me with shoulder. I sigh in relief.
"Good. Seriously though, what was that kids problem?"
Dan laugh, shaking his head. "I don't know."
I smile, glad Dan was being himself again. But I still couldn't shake the thought that that wasn't how Dan usually acted around people he didn't like.***
"It's so cold outside." I whisper as we walk into Starbucks.
"Well it's only March." Dan muses. We order our drinks and food and find a booth. While we're waiting for our orders I pull out my phone and start playing crossy road.
"Not again!" Dan cries.
"But I need the koala..." I whisper, putting my phone back in my pocket.
"I'll be the koala if it means you don't ignore me to create roadkill." Dan jokes. I look at him, my eyes wide.
"Are you really putting your life in my hands?" I ask. Dan's face goes blank.
"No. No no no no no! You are not playing crossy road with me."
A waitress walks over with our orders.
"Here you go." She smiles brightly. "Can I get you anything else?"
"No thanks." Dan shakes his head. The waitress nods and walks away. I take a drink of my hot chocolate.
"Mmmmm." I hum. Dan laughs taking a bite of his cake.
"I still can't believe you beat me this morning." He says.
"I still can't believe I tripped over the table."
Dan looks at me flatly. I laugh.
"Okay okay okay, it's not that weird for me."
"Exactly."
We sit in silence eating. Once we're finished, we stand and leave.
"To the underground!" Dan yells. I check the time.
"Dan it leaves in ten minutes." We look at each and start running down the street, yelling sorry to anyone we bump into. We make it to the underground just in time, puffing out short breaths.
"We're, so, unfit." Gasps Dan.
"I know." I pant. We give shaky laughs, and flop onto an empty seat.***
We had just unlocked the door and were starting up the stairs when the phone rung.
"No!" I cry and race up the stairs. I pick up the phone just as it clocks to answer phone.
"Hello?" I sigh breathlessly.
"Philip?" My mother sobs on the other end.
"Mum? Mum what's wrong?!"
"Your, your father, and, and I..." She sobs. "We're, we're get-getting a D-d-d-divorce."
Dedication in the next chapter if you can tell me what video the pictures from!!!
