Phil POV
"Phillip Michael Lester open this door now!" Someone yells, pounding on the door. I open my eyes groggily. It was eleven thirty am. I had started going to early, lying in Dan's bed unable to sleep until around three am when exhaustion took over. This made the days shorter and easier to get through. I had accidentally let myself go, only showering every couple of days, and only changing my clothes then too. Mum tried to make me eat and drink, but I had no appetite. I had continued uploading a video everyday, although barely any were longer than two minutes. We were still the number one trending thing on well, everything. It had ten days, and Dan still wasn't home. I was starting to worry, I mean, with everyone that was looking for him, how had he not been found? Was he even alive?!
"Phil I swear to god I will break this door down!" Someone screams, bringing me out of me thoughts. I clamber out of Dan's bed and run down the hallway. My front door was shaking and the sounds of multiple people banging on it and screaming at me filled the air. Unlocking the door, a small crowd of people tumbled through. Louise, Tyler, Felix, Zoe, Conner, Carrie, Joey, Alfie, and Marcia all marched through my door, armed with plastic bags and suitcases of god knows what. Louise takes one look at me and gives me a giant hug. Everyone else joins in, and soon I am enveloped in the biggest group I have ever been in in my whole life. My eyes well up with tears and I cling to whoever's around me to stop myself from falling to the ground.
After a while, everyone steps back and Louise wrinkles her nose.
"Go have a shower and put some clean clothes on sweetie." She instructs me. I nod and run back to grab some clothes.
I spend ages in the shower, just standing and thinking about my life. I had fallen into a pit of depression, and as hard as they tried, no one would be able to pull me out. No one, except the one person who was convinced I didn't need him in my life.
When the shower runs cold I sigh and get out. Once I'm dried and dressed, hair straightened, teeth brushed, I brace myself to go out and face the others. As I walk up the stairs, I hear voices, laughter and music. I had no idea what was going on, I mean, I wasn't even good friends with some of these people, and they had shown up to support me. And it meant a lot.
Entering the living room was like entering another world. The world I lived in with Dan. Muse was blaring from somewhere, food was all over the table, and there was a stack of suitcases in the corner. But mostly, people were happy. I feel a small smile grow on my lips.
"There he is!" Alfie cheers. Everyone turns and smiles at me, and I force a bigger smile.
"So what's going on guys?" I ask.
"Well, we were getting sick of watching you pine away after Dan, and decided that we couldn't let this go on." Tyler replies from where he was sitting on the couch.
"So we're here to cheer you up, and show Dan what he's missing." Joey wiggles his eyebrows suggestively.
"I'm sorry but who in this room isn't gay?" Felix calls from the dining table. Marcia looks at him.
"It's majority straight people in here, the gay's are just louder so it seems like there are more of them."
"So that explains Dan then." Felix nods.
"Seeing as the billion private investigators your phandom has employed haven't found Dan, Chris, PJ, Jack, Finn, Cat, Grace, Troye and Joe have all gone on their own little hunt." Joey grins.
"You mean, everyone is in England, either here with me, or looking for Dan?" I say slowly. Carrie nods.
"If you haven't noticed, you two are all anyone is talking about."
"So go get your camera!" Zoe calls from the beanbag. I nod, and grab it from my room.
"Give it here!" Louise yells, and snatches the camera from my hands. I'm pulled away by Alfie who sits me on the couch and hugs me.
"Its okay to cry." He whispers. I let out a strangled laugh. I knew everyone was trying to help me, but all I wanted was to curl up in a ball. The camera was passed around, and everyone had their say. I was passed around, and everyone tried to engage me in different games. I ate, played their games, sang their songs, all with a forced smile on my face. I managed to escape to the bathroom after about three hours, and just locked myself in. Picking up my phone, I call Dan, even though I know by now he won't answer. I wait for the voice mail to come, intending to leave a long message for Dan. But the voice mail doesn't come, instead the phone picks up. No one says anything, but I can hear breathing.
"Dan?" I ask in disbelief. He doesn't respond but know its him. "Dan. Please, why won't you come home? Where are you? Surely you've seen everything that's going on! Everyone is looking for you, and Louise and Carrie and Alfie and Felix and a lot of others have shown up here trying to cheer me up but I just want them all to go away, and you to come home." Tears pour down my face. Dan doesn't reply, but his breathing hitches and he sniffles slightly. He was crying too.
"Dan I l-" I start to say, but Dan interrupts me.
"Forget me Phil. I've already forgotten myself." Then he's gone.
And I didn't think he would come back.
