LEON

Coming back to the empty apartment wasn't exactly what I wanted after leaving the hospital. Piers was already gone. Jake told me he left the night I was admitted to the hospital. With a sigh, I plopped down on the couch, smiling as I saw a neatly folded piece of paper. Letter from Piers.

Dear Leon, it's me Piers. Well who else would it be, right? Anyway, when you will be back home , I will be already gone. Please I want you to take care. I called Ada, she promised she will call you as soon as she will be able. Next, I need you to do something for me. Before we left I've got a call from the higher-ups. They were asking me about the mutation, the virus and my abilities caused by the virus. Asked me what triggers me and what is my weakness. I didn't tell them the truth because it was all so weird. When I asked Chris about it, he sounded weird too. I need you to get to the BSAA, Chris' office. Maybe you will find something there. I'm worried I will have to hurt someone Leon. Please don't let me hurt anyone.

I put the letter down on the couch again, sighing. Chris...what is it you had to promise to let them allow Piers to join the mission. I thought about going to Jake, to ask him for help but then again..I wanted to be sure first. Sure that something is really happening. Well there goes my resting ordered by the doctors. I went to change before leaving the apartment. But luck wasn't on my side today. As soon as I closed the door , I ran into Jake and Sherry. "Yo, Leon. How are you doing ?" Jake nodded at me before he was pushed aside by Sherry. "Leon! You are home already? Where are you going, you should rest." She smiled at me. I hated that I had to lie to her, to Jake. This is Piers we are talking about but..."I'm just going for a walk. To clear my head. I will see you two later." I said quickly before walking inside the elevator. "Hey! Kennedy wait!" Jake yelled at me but the door already closed. That was close.

All the way to the BSAA, I was thinking about what to do. What to look for. What to say if someone will catch me sniffing around. I was sure about one thing tho..I won't let them hurt my friend. If Piers had a feeling something is not right , then I believe him.
By the front door I was stopped by the security. "Leon Kennedy. I have a meeting with Jill Valentine." I said and showed them my badge before they allowed me to go inside. I hope they won't find Jill before I find what I was looking for.
Looking for Redfield's office wasn't that hard. I sneaked inside, closing the door behind me. His desk was a mess. Papers everywhere. With a sigh I started to look for some evidence. For anything that would tell me what's going on. I wish I could call Piers to ask him. I sat down on the chair , reading through the papers. Nothing. Was Piers wrong? I looked around the desk before checking the drawers. Big envelope. Bingo? Quickly opening the envelope, reading through the papers , I couldn't believe my eyes. "Oh Chris...." I whispered to myself before looking up when I heard someone walking by the office doors. I put the envelope in my jacket before leaving the office as fast as I could. As unnoticeable as possible.
When I was finally outside, I took a deep breath. I took out my phone , calling Jake.  If there was someone who should know about this, it was him. "Yes? What's up?" Jake answered the call immediately. "Jake we have a problem. I'm on my way back home, I need to show you something."
"Leon you sound serious. That's not like you."
"It's about Piers. I think he is in trouble." That's all I had to say. "Copy that. I'm waiting for you. Hurry up."
I really hoped I was wrong, that Piers was wrong but according to those papers, he is in a big trouble. And I don't know if we will make it in time to get to him.

Jake was already waiting for me, pacing around the hall like a lion in a cage. "Leon! What did you find? What's going on?" I pushed him inside my apartment , walking over to the couch. "Piers left me a letter. He told me he thinks something is going to happen. That Chris and higher-ups were acting weird. He asked me to go into Chris'office to find some evidence. So I did. And I found it." I handed him the envelope and he quickly opened it, reading it carefully. After he was done he looked at me. "Oh god."
