Bringing Piers back home was a hella good day. He was so excited like a little kid. Since he didn't remember anything about where he lives, he wanted to see everything. He was also excited to see Leon and Chris. He said he is scared but he wants to meet his boyfriend. Well.. Meet once again. And then there was me, happy that I can take my best friend home, alive. But I was scared what will happen when I will see Sherry once again. Since they left China, I didn't talk to her. Not that I didn't want to but I was too busy looking for Carla, mourning Piers and trying not get myself killed. When the half of our flight was behind us, I texted Chris we are almost there. I looked next to me at Piers. His head was turned away from everyone. He scared a few kids on the airport. "Are you sleeping?" I asked Piers and he shook his head. "Come on man so you scared a few kids, whatever." He glared at me. "Little kids, Jake. They cried and screamed." He whispered before he sighed. "I wanna go straight home, okay? No stops, take me right back to Leon's."
I nodded and he then looked out of the window again. I closed my eyes, thinking about what I'm going to say to Sherry. She musts hate me. I left her for a dead friend. Who is not dead but still. I want to apologize to her, I want to tell her how much I love her and how much she means to me. Hoping that she will forgive me.

When we landed, I took Piers right home, just as he wanted. Leon was already waiting for us, like an excited wife with dinner already ready. We entered the apartment and Leon went to hug Piers but he stopped just right in front of him. "Oh.. I'm Leon Kennedy, we live together." He said nervously, making Piers smile. "I heard a lot about you from Ada and Jake. And there are moments when I think I remember again and you had these pictures of you in my mind." He said and Leon finally hugged him. "It was so lonely here without you. I'm so glad you are back home."
"Its good to be home." I wanted to leave them alone but Redfield was about to arrive and I had to make sure he won't screw this up. Of course he did at the end of the day. Everything went well when he came. He and Piers hugged and talked. They laughed and cried but then Redfield kissed him and Piers panicked. He ran inside his room, hiding in my arms. I blinked down at him. "Was it that bad?" I asked him and he glared at me. "I.. Didn't see this coming. I don't know if I feel what I'm supposed to feel when my boyfriend kisses me." He whispered and I got really scared. What if Piers fell out of love with Chris? "Maybe it's because you don't remember him. And he got too fast but you have to know he cares about you puppy." I said and he nodded. We heard the sound of door closing, signal that Redfield left. Leon came into the room with a soft smile. "Chris just left." Piers looked down sadly. "Hey come on.. He wasn't mad at you. He was mad at himself that he scared you. He wanted me to tell you he loves you." Piers nodded slowly. "Will he come back?" Leon smiled and nodded. "I invited him for a lunch tomorrow." Piers hummed before looking at me. "Go to talk to Sherry now."
"Will you be okay? I can stay here if you want." He shook his head, hugging me tightly. "Go home Jake, you did enough already." I didn't like this. He was sulking. "Piers.."
"Leon is here with me, it's okay Jake. Go and get her back, okay?" He said and I nodded, even tho I didn't want to. I've got to used to sleeping next to him, spending the whole day with him. But I got up and after saying goodbye I left. I entered my apartment and Sherry was sitting in the kitchen. She looked up when I greeted her. "So you are finally back home, hm?" She said bitterly and I nodded. "Look Sherry I'm really sorry that I didn't leave with you."
"You chose Piers over me."
"But at the end, it was a right choice no? He was alive and he needed me."
"I needed you Jake!" She cried out. "You chose a back then dead person over me!" I wanted to hug her but she slapped my hands away. "You didn't see him Sherry! He was a mess, he didn't remember anything about the people he loves, I had to tell him about his past and family. He was lost but happy when he saw me. Someone familiar." I started pacing around the room. "Do you love him?" She asked and I blinked. "What?"
"Are you in love with Piers?"
"I do love him, he is my best friend." She rolled her eyes. "Ever since you two got so close, you are ready to kill everyone who just badly looks at him."
"Because he is my first friend!"
"Oh please stop with this shit. Every kid has a friend." I glared at her. "I didn't! I spent most of teenage years as a mercenary. The first bond I ever made was with a trainer of my unit. He was strict and demanding but he treated me almost as a son. I worshiped the guy. I found myself able to feel a sense of attachment to him but later we found out he was a double agent and he betrayed us all. I lost every interest of making bonds or finding friends. No one ever really cared about me. Then I met you... I fell for you even tho it didn't look like that. And I still love you Sherry and nothing will ever change that but Piers is... You are love, a romantic bond but he is special. I hated him, you know how much I wanted to slap his stupid puppy face but it was the shit we've went through that brought us close to each other. He had a great family, he was highly recognized for his skills and everyone accepted him and I was the exact opposite of him. And look at us now. When I thought he died, it ruined me Sherry. I need him in my life just like I need you." I took a deep breath after my speech, looking at her. She was crying before she snuggles in my arms. Finally. I wrapped my arms around her, kissing her forehead. "I'm so sorry Jake.. I was selfish and jealous. I thought you will leave me for him. He went through the hell again and I thought only about myself. I should have stayed with you in China to help you." I shook my head slowly, nuzzling her hair. "It's okay. I'm back with you, he is alive and back home." I whispered and she nodded. "Leon invited Chris for a lunch tomorrow, will you come there with me too? I'm sure Piers will be happy to see you."
"He doesn't remember me, no?"
"He is excited to meet everyone again. And he said that sometimes he feels like he remembers again." I shrugged. "He is lucky to have you Jake..and so am I." She smiled before kissing me. I was finally back home.
