18. new mission

*Valkyrie*

I was woken up by Rowan and the others getting ready.
'What's going on?' I ask and Rosi hands me a leather suit with shoes.
'Quick put these on Chief wants to see us' she says urgently.
Already? But we barely got a day off. I change quickly and join the others.
'Rowan. Elizabeth. Rosalind. Caspian. Ron. Valkyrie.' Chief says and we straighten,
'You six have been selected for our special mission. As you know, we now have Mark but somehow, someone managed to let Jaiden escape. After some research we have realised that Mark was working for someone. who? We do not know. We know however that Jaiden is the main suspect. Everything that has happened here was not part of our plan. We need to bring him in. Now. I-' i cut him off.
'Dad! That's not fair! We literally just got back and your sending us of to another one already th-'
'I KNOW VALKYRIE. I know. I didn't want you guys to do this either, but this is urgent. This could potentially compromise the FBI.' I sigh. I know that Jaiden will be a big issue. But now that we know he has the resources to compromise us, he has to be dealt with.
'We need you guys to go undercover again. This should take about a few weeks, if there's complications then a month at the most, we know his exact location, the bad thing is we can't communicate with you. You are going to have to do this together. There is an emergency phone in each of your packs. Don't use them unless it's absolutely necessary.'
'Why not chief?' Caspian asks
'Because Jaiden can track that one simple phone call and it's over for all of us.' We nods and go to retrieve our packs.
'Kori stay for a minute' he waited until everyone had left and sighed,
'I'm sorry sweetheart, Laura said this was beyond urgent, once this mission is over you lot can have a year holiday' he promised but i laugh lightly
'Don't make promises you can't keep dad, i understand anyway, i really really missed you' i admit, dad walked forward and gave me a huge bear hug, it felt nice.
'I am so sorry.' Dad whispered.
'I have to go dad, I love you!' I say and he smiles 'love you too sweetheart, your mum would be proud'

I run into the room and grab my pack. We all get the same pack and a suitcase.

*Rowan*
We are all exhausted, but we have to get this mission done. Ron, Cas and i got to the plane first and we waited for the girls,
'So Cas, you're gonna be a dad!' Ron says and Cas grins,
'Honestly i can't believe it!' He exclaims and i smile. I wonder if VV and i will ever get to that point...
'Hey Rowan' i turn 'yeah Cas?'
He and Ron pass a look between them and i frown slightly.
'When are you proposing to Valkyrie?' He asks and i shove him.
'I don't know, we have this mission so after i might take her somewhere nice and propose there' i explain and I smirk
'what about you guys?'
Immediately they begin changing the conversation.
'Hey guys! What are you talking about?' Rosi asks and i shove at Ron.
'Nothing!...Guns!' He says and Cas and i sigh.
The girls give us strange looks and we board the plane, VV takes the seat next to me and yawns.
'How are you not tired?' She asks and i smile,
'Well you had to go to the med centre to get that bruise on your chest checked up on' i say and she rolls her eyes
'That took forever! I didn't break anything so i wonder why it took so long?' She mutters and i pass her a blanket 'sleep now, your going to need all the energy you have for this mission' i say and she lays her head on my shoulder.
I have a bad feeling about this mission.

After we land we all check into the hotel. The uneasy feeling keeps getting worse. VV is practically sleep walking at this point so i keep a firm grip on her to make sure she doesn't fall.
For this mission to work, only the six of us know the location. We all chose the hotel on the way here so it would be impossible for anyone else to know where we go. I lay VV in the bed gently and went to lock the door. I lay next to her and let the sleep take over.

I hear a scream, i bolt up switching the light on and see a man with a mask over his face choking Valkyrie. I waste no time in knocking him out. I unlock the door and call the others.
'Someone attacked Rosi as well' Ron exclaimed
'Same here with Lizzie' Cas stated. I held Valkyrie close to me. 'What did you do with the guys?' I ask
'Knocked him out, thought we could question him'  i nodd
'What about you Cas' i ask but he shakes his head.
'The guy got away' he growls.
We get the two guys and pull off their masks.
'How did you know we were here' i ask, of course there was no reply.
Suddenly they both began convulsing and their mouths foaming, they died within a matter of seconds. We searched the dead bodies and found secret pockets just below their chins. Empty.
'They must have been suicide pills' Cas spits out.
I then come to a dreadful realisation.
'someone here, is a traitor.' I growl out.
Of course no one's faces betrayed any kind of emotion.
This mission just became a whole lot harder. I gripped Valkyrie closer to me and the others left and went to their rooms. I double checked everything in the room and locked everything.
There was no backing out of this mission.
