14. The truth

*Valkyrie*

I could feel the nerves in the pit of my stomach. Why am i nervous? It's not my secret afterall.
Rowan wraps his arm around me in the car and i sigh.
'Nothing is going to happen Ro, you're driving now' i say, trying to reassure him. He gives a curt nod but doesn't remove his arm.
When we get back home, all the maids greet us. I immediately notice there were a few more men around and i glance at Rowan. One incident and BAM nothing is safe.
I run to my room and jump in the bed.

Ding
Jaiden: hey Gogo i heard what happened, i did visit but you weren't awake, is there anyway we can meet up?

HE was definatley not part of the equation. If i said yes, Rowan wouldn't be happy but oh well

Me: sure thing! Rowan will drop me off

Jaiden: ok cool how about **** café again? 3pm

Me: that's perfect :)

Jaiden: see you then xx

I roll my eyes. Jaiden really needs to calm down.

'ROWAN! CAN YOU DRIVE ME TO **** CAFÉ? I'M MEETING JAIDEN!' I shout, Ro walks into me room and raises an eyebrow.
'You JUST got discharged are you sure?' He asks and i laugh
'Im fine! Of course I'm sure' i say. He nodds unconvinced.
Ro drives me there anyway and leaves, i was half expecting him to go with me.
'Gogo! Over here!' Jaiden waves, i go and sit opposite him and he grins, i grin back.
How did he get so hot?
'So gogo how are you? I heard about the accident' he says and i smile.
'I'm alright thanks to Ro it wasn't that bad' i explain, Jaiden's jaw noticeably tensed at Rowan's name.
'What happened to the driver? I heard that he either died or got away? And what about the truck? It just disappeared?' Jaiden asks but i tensed. I know he was just trying to make conversation but how did he know that?
Rowan told me that he told the hospital that the car had skidded on some water and hit a truck, he told them that the truck and driver was fine and left the scene. But how did Jaiden know about the driver?
'How did you know?' I ask panic flashes in his eyes.
'Rowan...he told me'
Lies. Lies. Lies.
'Uh huh.... You wouldn't happen to know Mark would you?' I ask
'Who Rosi's ex? No not personally' he said with a shug.
Lies. Lies. Lies.
I never told him about Mark. Nor did Rosi.
'Hey look I'm not fedling too good so do you mind if we cut this early?' I ask and he nodds.
'Hope you get better soon! We can see each other again' he says
I call Ro.
'Hey can you please pick me up?' I ask
'Sure...what's wrong? It's literally been 5 minutes i didn't even get home yet' Ro asks, i hear the car screech to a stop before starting up again.
'I'm on my way'
'Please hurry'
I hang up. How can he do that? What could he possibly gain from joining someone like Mark?
A black car comes to a stop infront of me and i see Ro. I hop in and take a shaky breath, i feel Ro looking at me and i close my eyes.
'Jaiden is working with Mark' i say.
'What? That lying son of a-' i cut him off.
'Everything is going wrong.' I say and he shakes his head.
'Don't say that. It will be ok trust me. We will figure it out' he says firmley and i nod. We get home and i sigh
Ding
Elizabeth: you have to tell him now. Trust me.

Me: why now? Why not later? I still haven't found the right time.

Elizabeth: you have to do it now. We're running out of time.

I sigh. I know i have to do it now or we won't get another time.
'VV? Valkyrie are you alright?' Ro asks.
My heart is pounding and i take a deep breath.
'VV-'
'ELIZABETH IS PREGNANT'
He looked shocked. It melted into anger then sadness then disappointment and then back to anger.
'What.' He hissed
'Elizabeth is pregnant...with Caspian's child'

The ball dropped.
