Y/N was standing in the field again but she felt out of sorts.  As if she was only partially there and not fully herself.  She could see Kakashi running towards her and he skidded to a stop, giving her a strange look.

"What happened?" He asked as he looked at her.  "I can barely see you, you're almost transparent.  You just suddenly disappeared!"

Y/N started crying, unlike anyway that she had cried before.  He tried to hold her but his arms went right through her.  She wanted him to hold her so bad and it seemed unfair that he couldn't in that moment.

"Talk to me, Y/N," Kakashi then said, his eyes now seeing the blood on her back.  "I can't hold you right now so talk to me."

"He killed her, Kakashi," she finally wailed.  "And he tried to kill me but I escaped."

Kakashi dropped to his knees and grabbed fists of grass, a ragged scream came out of his mouth.  She cried harder and sunk down to her knees in front of him.  He looked up finally with eyes that burned with anger.  "Damn it, I can't do anything!"

Kakashi was horrified beyond belief as he looked at her.  He feared she was translucent because she was close to death.  He didn't want to lose her, she was the only thing that had been consistent in his life.  He loved her and wanted to protect her, but he wasn't able to.  It was like a cruel joke the universe was playing with him.

"Fight, Y/N," he spoke so softly she almost didn't hear him at first.  "You have to fight to stay alive.  I'm scared you are dying right now."

Y/N nodded as silent tears went over her cheeks.  "I don't think I was hurt that bad.  My arm doesn't work right but...  I think they gave me some kind of drug at the hospital.  Maybe that is why I'm only partially here."

Hope flared in his eyes as he looked at her.  "No matter what, don't you die on me.  One day, I swear I will find a way to bring you to my home.  I don't know how but I will find a way."

Y/N gave a wobbly smile at the words.  She would love to be with him always.  She hated the life she lived, her mother being the only good thing and now she was gone.  She was broken inside.  He gave that look that he would give just before he was pulled out of the dream.  He reached for her again and she reached for him.

He vanished just before she woke up.

Y/N was in a world of pain as she opened her eyes.  She could hear beeps from monitors to her right. She felt weird as if she was looking at the world through a glass.  She turned and saw a man in a suit sitting next to her.  He gave her a smile that did not reach his eyes.

"I'm Detective Peters," he said softly.  "We caught your Dad.  I'm sorry about your Mom."

She felt her eyes burn with tears but she didn't say anything.  What could she say?

"Did you know he had a warrant out for his arrest?"

Y/N shook her head no.  She didn't know anything, only that her life had been a nightmare from as early as she could remember.

"I know you're hurting right now but do you think you could answer some questions for me?  It will be hard, I know, but we really need to know what happened."  She gave a nod.  "What do you remember?"

Y/N cleared her throat before answering.  "I was asleep and something woke me up.  I went down the hallway and then I saw him.  Mom was dead...  her throat... he was stabbing her body over and over again.  He must have heard me... He tried to get me but I got away.  He stabbed me before I could get out the door.  He slipped in Mom's blood and I was able to get away.  I ran and ran and ran..."
