Sugar Antics

Y/N was having the worst sugar craving of her life.  For three weeks, Kakashi had been keeping her from sodas or anything with sweetness.  Her plates had been piled high with proteins, vegetables, and he even insisted on milk daily.  She was about to brain him.  Now she had never been a sugar junkie but she did get the occasional craving and it was like he had been on the warpath with her intakes.  She personally didn't see a huge difference in the amount of chakra flow; although, she was getting a lot higher on said tree and instead of landing on her ass every time she now was landing on her feet.

Kakashi was eyeing her with a suspicious look on his face but she was extra careful to keep what she was feeling beneath the surface.  On top of taking away all of her favorite foods, he also refused to be more than a few feet away from her.  She felt like she was under constant surveillance and it irritated her more because he would not tell her why he was really acting the way he was acting.

When Kakashi was summoned to a meeting with the Hokage, she saw her opportunity to get her sugar fix. She was almost giddy inside as she watched him getting ready to meet with Naruto. The minute he left the house she was making a run to the convenient store down the street. She was going to get a soda if it killed her.

"Maybe you should take a nap until I get back?" Kakashi suggested as he pulled his sandals on.  "You were a bit restless last night."

"Only because someone... wouldn't keep his hands to himself."

Kakashi had the grace to blush slightly at the reminder.  "Hmm, well that might be the case again tonight so a nap would be a good idea."

Y/N barely refrained from rolling their eyes.  He was acting like a mother hen and it was making her crazy.  She had not been this restricted since she was a child.  It was no wonder she was planning an act of rebellion the minute he left.

"Don't let anyone in until I get back," he finally said as he straightened.  "Maybe you can finish your book if you won't nap."

"Okay," she grinned at him.  "Hurry back, I miss you already."

She could see that he was suspicious of her but he had not choice but to leave.  One did not ignore the Hokage after all.  He gave her a quick kiss before going out the door.  She threw the robe she was wearing off, which had concealed the capris and t-shirt she was wearing underneath.  She quickly pulled her H/C hair up, pulled on her sandals and waited a moment before turning the handle on the door.

It wouldn't budge!  What the hell?!  She gave a frustrated growl and stomped her foot.  Did he actually lock her in?!  THAT'S IT!!  She yanked a few times on the door but it did not budge, making her think he used some kind of Jutsu on the damn thing.

Y/N glanced towards the window and a slow smile crossed her features.  There was more than one way to get out of the house.  Oh, she was going to let him have it when he got home.  He had gotten out of control and she had allowed it too long.  Enough was enough!  She pushed up the window and looked out.  There was no ledge and only a straight drop to the ground.  She bit her lower lip.  No wonder he didn't lock the window, he probably didn't think she could navigate it without getting hurt.

Y/N narrowed her eyes, shows what he knows.  She swung up onto the window, closed her eyes and focused her chakra as she had been practicing on the tree.  When she felt she had the right amount, she put her feet flat on the side of the wall and hesitantly stood up.  She almost jumped with glee as she walked down the side of the wall to the ground below.  Guess she just needed a little rebellion to finally get it.

Y/N snickered as she looked up at the open window far above then started jogging down the street to the convenience store.  She was giggling inside, thinking about the look on his face if he was to see her right now.  That would teach him to try to keep her under lock and key!  What was his deal?  This was a bit extreme in her opinion.  She did not like secrets and he was definitely keeping some from her to be going this far.  It made it hard for her to abide by his requests when he didn't tell her what was going on.  He was treating her like a child rather than a partner.

Y/N went through the front door of the convenient store like a kid in a candy shop.  She immediately went to the fountain drinks and took little tastes of each until she found the flavor that was most like Dr. Pepper.  She filled up the cup with glee, this was going to be so good.  She then went towards the front, her eyes landing on some chocolate that looked mouth watering as well.  She snagged a few of the candy bars, intending on hiding them around the apartment.  She then bought a few extra bottled sodas of the same brand as her fountain drink.  She eagerly paid the clerk and went out feeling like she had scored a victory.  Right up until someone's arm went around her neck and a kunai was shoved against the skin just below her ribs.

Kakashi was cursing as he read the ANBU file that Naruto had finally secured.  He was not sure why it had taken so long to retrieve, but there were still some that were of the same mind as Danzo and caused problems and delays beneath the surface.  The information in the file was bad and unfortunately, it had gotten swept under the rug because it had been retrieved just before the fourth ninja war.

The secret society was in fact still very much in operation.  As he had suspected the Hyuga was not the leader but one of the subordinates of the leader.  The file was unfortunately out of date and the locations mentioned were most likely no longer being operated out of; however, it did list who the leader of the cult was:  Rylan Tobiki from the Land of Sand originally.

They had already performed a few human sacrifices that apparently had not satisfied the beast they worshipped as their power had not come to the forefront in all that time.  A short list of the presumed murdered was also attached to the report.  Most of them came from families of rare genetic mutations.  They had been abducted in broad daylight, regardless which village they had been in and the security measures that were in place.

He was beginning to get a prickling along his spine that he could not quite place.  It was the same sensation he got right before heading into battle as the enemy was approaching.  He looked at Naruto and gave a nod of his head as he handed the file back.

"They are definitely after Y/N," he finally said.  "They want to sacrifice her to this beast they worship."

"We should set up guards around your home, Kakashi sensei," Naruto spoke next.  "Just a couple of ANBU, just to make sure she is always watched until we pinpoint where they are at now."

Kakashi was about to agree when an explosion erupted.  They both moved to the window and he could see blue fire streaking into the sky.  Y/N.  "Fuck," he said before throwing the window open and leaping out.  He did not look to even see if Naruto was following, he just knew he had to get to Y/N.
