Dragon Child

Kakashi felt his heart drop as he saw the black dragon looming over Y/N as she was on her knees before it.  The opening to the cavern was partially blocked by the beasts massive tail.  He replaced his chidori with this purple lightning blade, fully intending to chop the tail off.

The dragon suddenly became an almost translucent red mist and surrounded Y/N.  She arched her head back as the mist suddenly swept inside her body.  Her skin became bright like the morning sun and he had to shield his eyes against it.

"Y/N!" he screamed in horror.

She was floating in the air and when he went to try to grab her, he got tossed back hard into the wall by an unseen force.  He groaned as he got back up, fully intent on trying again.  The glow started to fade and she slowly lowered to the ground.  She went limp and he got to her before she could hit the hard floor.

Kakashi was shaking as he held her, feeling for a pulse.  His terror was at an all-time high, fearing that she was already dead. He almost wilted as he felt her pulse throbbing beneath his fingers, strong and sure.  Her eyes suddenly opened and she looked at him with a dazed expression, her eyes were almost glassy.

"Oh god, Y/N, are you okay?  Where are you injured?  What happened to that dragon?"

She threw her arms around him and held onto him so tight he almost couldn't breathe.  She was shaking a little.  He held her back and almost wept.  He thought he had lost her forever.  She slowly released him before taking his face between her hands.

"He wasn't what they thought he was... he didn't want sacrifices as they had been doing.  In fact, he was very angry by what they had done over the centuries.  He never consumed any of the victims, they would slaughter them and leave the bodies at the entrance of his cavern."  She felt like she was rambling as she tried to process everything that she had seen and been told in a matter of moments, "He had requested those of unique bloodlines because he was looking for a host... much like what Naruto has with the nine-tails.  He wasn't from here but my world originally and was sent here as a banishment.  He has been lonely for so long.  He is the last of his kind."

Kakashi did not know what to say to all that and remained silent, allowing her to process everything she needed to say.

"In his time, his kind worked alongside the people from our world but there was a group from a land called Atlantis that became very powerful and they felt threatened by this union between the others and his people.  They slaughtered almost all of his people but he was too strong, so they opened a portal and banished him here."  She had tears in her eyes, "He mourned for so long then by chance, the founder of this cult found him.  He worshipped him because of his power and asked him what he could do to be allowed to have some of his power.  Rydon is his name, by the way."

"The dragon or the man?"

"The dragon," she said softly.  "Rydon told him that he wanted a very unique person of a special bloodline.  The man misunderstood what he wanted and that's when the sacrifices began.  Rydon retreated deep into the mountain because it made him so sick.  He tried to tell them that was not what he wanted but they refused to listen.  He was angered because they just wanted his power above all else."

Kakashi stroked the side of her face, "But you got away from them before they could kill you as a sacrifice."

She nodded her head, "I was the first person in centuries to face him.  He could tell that I was from his original home but my blood isn't unique as he was needing."

"So you're not a Jinchūriki after all?  What was all that then?"

Y/N bit her lower lip, not sure how he was going to take this part.  He gave her a patient look but she could tell he was beginning to get nervous by her silence.

"He joined with our son," she finally said.  "He now resides within him and will lend him his power once he is strong enough to take it."

Kakashi stilled and stared at her, "Our son?  We're having a boy?"

Y/N grinned and nodded, "Rydon told me just before leaving me to join with him.  Our son has that unique blood that he needed for the joining.  He is from both worlds that Rydon was a part of..."

Kakashi sat silent for a long moment as he processed what she had just told him.  He turned his eyes down to her stomach then swallowed.  "So our son..."

"Will be a dragon child... At least that is what Rydon called it... Apparently that was the kind of relationship they had with the people of my world before they were destroyed.  This is where all of our stories of super humans came from...  Since he was here, he could not join with anyone that was not of both worlds... although, I didn't fully understand what the reason was.  He pressed so many things into my mind but some of it is already leaving."

Before Kakashi could say anything else, Naruto suddenly appeared glowing in his full Kurama power.  He looked at them then smiled, "Oh Y/N good, you're okay!  We wiped out or captured all of the rest of them, Kakashi sensei."  He looked around, "So... was there a dragon or not?"

Y/N opened her mouth to answer but Kakashi placed his index and middle finger over her lips.  "There is no dragon now," he answered for her instead.  "Did you find Guy?"

"Yes, Sai is with him now," Naruto looked at Y/N.  "I'm glad you were able to escape and hide before they could sacrifice you.  Are you injured at all?"

"Just on my wrists from getting loose from the rope."

Naruto knelt down next to her and touched her wrists, instantly healing the wound.  "There, that should feel better.  I guess we should get out of here.  I'm going to have my clones do a sweep of all the caves, just to make sure we didn't miss anyone or anything."

Kakashi stood and that was when Y/N noticed he was injured.  "Your leg..."

"It's nothing," Kakashi muttered.  "The chakra network got temporarily interrupted but it will be back to normal in a few hours.  It's just numb right now.  Let's get out of here.  I'm done with caves for a while."
