"You seem happy?"

"I feel like I am but nothing about me has actually changed. "

You sat on the counter watching your mother's doppelganger make food for you. Once you appeared in this dream, the lady was waiting for you in your room. She looked different, taller, skinnier, but dreams are weird like that

She asked if you wanted to watch her make food due to your trust issues with that type of thing.

So here you were opening up to your button-eyed dream Mom. It made you feel somewhat better about yourself even though talking to her wasn't as real compared to literally anyone else.

" I'm just glad you aren't having a tough time while you're awake."

She put a little food on a fork pointing it at you for you to eat.
Hesitantly you open your mouth to consume it.
It smells salty and flavorful, and usually, that could be a sign of somebody masking the scent of Medicine.
The only thing was that this was a dream, and you watched her make the food so it had to be safe.

"Careful, it's hot."

You breathed in and out trying to cool the food in your mouth. You close your eyes from the burning pain as a mix of endorphins flooded your brain. The flavor pricked your taste buds burning sensation feeling your tongue.

You felt your eyes water as you open them back up from the Heat.

"I-It's good"

Once your eyes reopened you saw the bland color scheme of your bedroom walls. Your energy drained realizing you were now awake.

When you figure out that you had woken up, you realize that you were sitting on your window sill. After that realization, you jerked forward hitting your head on your bedroom floor.

As reality sunk in you put a padlock on your mouth to stop yourself from talking out loud. Your head twist a little discombobulated from waking up and you waited for it to stop. Your jaw moved in all different directions you noticed that something was in your mouth and the spasm was making you choke on it.

You slap yourself trying to get whatever it was out of your mouth before accidentally swallowing it whole.

Coraline POV

"Where were you yesterday?"

I lifted my leg to the window putting my shoe under the child lock mechanism. I heard the click of the window unlock which wasn't as hard as it looked when Y/N did it.

"Me?! I-I wasn't doing anything important, why'd you ask"

"You didn't follow me home like usual, stalker"

I put my leg between the glass window and the sill to recreate what they did to my window. Nothing seemed to be working but it was definitely possible. It happened right before my eyes after all.

"I-I didn't think you cared?"

"Don't change the subject pin-head."

I jabbed forward at nothing. And I realized that my shoe was stuck between the window sill and the window itself. I grabbed my shoe trying to pry my whole leg out from under the window Wybie answered back to me.

"I wasn't !"

"You were with Y/N again weren't you?"

I moved my foot out of the window leaving my shoes stuck inside of it.
I was trying to regain my balance stumbling backward like some drunk girl and looking like I lost a darn heel at the club.

"They just wanted to talk,"

I groaned seeing Wybie simp over them. I lifted my window with my hands to have more space for my shoe.

"Don't play dumb Wyborn, I know you've been seeing them for a while."

The cat appeared on the roof part of the window and walked into my room to rub its face on his leg.

"I was going to see them again, kinda hoped you'd come with me."

I slip my shoe on, stomping on the ground to make sure the whole shoe was completely on. I looked at the cat for a response deciding what I should do in this situation.

"Fine I'll go see the psycho"

"They're not a psycho. They just need people to talk to,"

He opens my door, going out to the hallway to slide down the stairs quickly.

"Besides I know you like them enough to try and recreate what they did to your window."

I felt blood rush to my face and I kicked Wyborn in the back of his knees.

"OW"

"Shut it"

The fact that he would even insinuate that I could tolerate someone like them was annoying.

Even still something was off about them and I had to get to the bottom of it.

I followed Wyborn, and because of his stalker-ish behavior, he memorized the psycho's address better than I did.

I noticed as we were walking away from my house he was grabbing rocks from off of the floor. Me and the cat trail behind. At the time I was distracted still trying to rack my brain on how Y/N knew about my house.

Specifically The Little Door.

The landlady, Wybie's grandma, normally won't let people rent apartment spaces if they have kids. Even if they saw how the apartment looked on the inside why are they still here instead of with the other mother?

My shoulders buckled as I felt the cat jump onto them, climbing on top of my head.

The kid is weird... It's that simple.
