"OH MY GOD!"
Coraline's mother cried out before you hit the ground. Your knees bent for a safer landing, the damage was only a sting so you felt you succeeded.
You looked back at Coraline she was gripping onto the house much like before. You stared back at her parents, they seemed shocked and concerned.
"Your windows relock when they close. If she doesn't jump you might need a ladder."
The moment you spoke those words The Jones Family went into panic mode.
Coraline stood still screaming, the father left to the tool shed, the mother ran inside to supposedly unlock the window.
You felt a positive emotion fall over you but it was overshadowed by your father's hand on your shoulder.
The lone touch told you he wasn't happy and you reverted back to before.
To top it off Wybie seemed to have caught up. He stared at you on his bike and you followed your eyes to where he moved.
His mouth was slightly ajar and he slowed his bike down to be able to stare longer. Though his expression changed when he heard the scream of his friend on the roof.
Wybie POV
"I AM TELLING YOU WYBORN They set it up I know it."
Coraline was riding on the back of my bike. She balled her hands into a fist and look down at her scratched up kneecaps. I was going slow because Coraline got pretty hurt trying to get down from the roof, but I didn't want to crash like last time either.
"Joansy, you decided to go on the roof ON YOUR OWN, how would they sent that up?"
The bike stumbled and Coraline held onto my shirt.
"N-Not like that, I mean they obviously knew the window would relock, so they stranded me."
"It's your window how would-"
I paused remembering the things Y/N said about the house, how they knew about the little door. Coraline was a little crazy with her imagination, but she was right about the other mother.
Maybe Y/N is trying these crazy schemes?
"Ah- Continue that sentence Wybie?"
She gave me a smile, one of those that people use when they know they are right.
Maybe I'm being overly sympathetic. Guilty for hitting them with my bike and all. Or maybe because they kind of stuck up for me in the forest, or because the cold stare in their eyes makes me feel just a bit-
"Are you blushing?"
"Huh?"
I back to reality and stepped on the brakes. Coraline was looking over at my face but bumps forward on impact. She was laughing somewhat at the comment she just made.
If I wasn't blushing before I was blushing now and it just seemed to make Coraline laugh harder.
"I-I'm not blushing."
I only answered back because I felt like I had to. She got off the bike and walked around. We were somewhere near the old well. Trying to check if anything had changed since when we threw the key.
The cat was also with us purring against my leg as I propped up my bike on a tree. I parked up my bike still feeling embarrassed. The only thought that I had was back when Coraline was stuck on the roof.
When I passed by them,
The speed of my bike had pushed their hair somewhat and I could see their eyes trail as I rode. My face lifted as I looked down at the bike.
Coraline lifted the lid of the well, and I finally took my eyes off my already parked bike. The cat perched on a nearby rock staring down what we were doing. He didn't want to be near the hole but still wanted to view our chore.
"I wasn't blushing, you are just trying to hide the fact you didn't know your own window could self-lock."
Coraline seemed to have gotten angry at that statement and pushed me closer to the well. I stumbled almost falling down the well. I didn't even have time to scream, as my life flashed before my eyes.
I regained composed myself. I landed on the ground and used my legs to kick and move away from the well.
"THAT'S NOT FUNNY !"
I yelled, forcing my hands down as I stood back up. Coraline laughed at my expense as I just held my breath. She walked near the cat and he started to hiss.
His back arched like a crescent moon and hair stood on end as she passed. I walked over and gave him some pets but he didn't seem to chill out until I wrapped him in my coat.
"You two are no fun."
She grabbed some sticks and rocks throwing them down the hole.
I kept the cat close for comfort and started to think about Y/N since they made me feel happy.
Their hair was pretty in the wind, and their eyes wonderful to see even for a second. Just thinking made me feel warm and fuzzy.
The cat purred as I buried my face in his stiff fur.
I am curious if I should see them again?
