"This forest really is beautiful when your not on your way to murder someone," Remus said as he and Fenrir walked through the forest.
Fenrir smiled at him. He never felt this way about anyone before. The need to protect and shield Remus away from the horrors of the world, even if Remus didn't need it.
Fenrir reached out and took Remus's hand. Remus looked at him surprised, but didn't pull away, which Fenrir took as a good sign. "Come on. I want to show you something."
Remus let himself be pulled by Fenrir. They kept walking until the reached a clearing. Remus's eyes widened. They were at a small river that had a gorgeous waterfall. There were flowers blooming and the sinking sun set a warm glow over the water. "This place is beautiful." Remus turned to him. "How'd you find it?" Fenrir just grinned at him.
Fenrir pulled Remus near the river and they both sat down on the grass.
"Tell me about Hogwarts." Fenrir said leaning back on his elbows.
Remus looked at him, surprised. "I didn't expect you to be interested. Did you ever go?"
Fenrir raised an eyebrow. "Do you really think they would let a werewolf into Hogwarts." Fenrir tilted his head. "Well other than you. I was bitten at eight. Never had the chance to go."
Remus looked down at his lap. "Hogwarts was amazing. I felt like I belonged somewhere. I was thrilled when they accepted me. I finally had friends, people who cared for me. Me and the rest of the Marauders pulled pranks, sneaked out, and just generally had fun." Remus face fell. "But it was all a lie."
Remus felt tears fall down his face, but he didn't care. "They never were okay with me being a werewolf. But than why would they become Animagi for me?" Fenrir's eyes widened. Remus continued. "I thought they loved me. They were always there and than suddenly they started glaring at me and talking about me behind my back, before they tried poisoning me." By now Remus was full on sobbing. Fenrir quickly wrapped his arms around Remus.
Remus sobbed into Fenrir's chest. "Don't I deserve love or friendship? What did I do that was so bad that I have to lose everything?"
Fenrir's heart twisted when he heard those words. Remus doesn't deserve any of this. Fenrir felt his wolf stir. He pushed it down.
Remus started to calm down. "I'm sorry about that. You must be horri--" Fenrir cut Remus off by putting a finger on Remus's lips. "Don't worry about it. I get it. We all do Remus. Vishaka, Jasper, and I, we're here for you. Even if Vishaka doesn't show it, you're important to her. You're not alone anymore."
Remus smiled at him, before hugging him. Fenrir hesitated before wrapping his arms around Remus.
When they separated, Remus suddenly felt drawn toward the trees. "You alright, Remus?"
"Do you feel that?" Remus asked. Fenrir nodded. "You feel a pull, don't you? Let's go see what it is."
Remus and Fenrir walked through the forest. They stumbled upon a rotting shack. Remus looked at the shack in disgust. "We're being pulled toward a dirty, old shack." Fenrir walked into the shack. "Wait what are you doing?" Remus made a move to follow, but decided to stay where he was.
Fenrir came out holding a ring. Remus looked at it. It was gold with a black diamond that had a strange symbol on it.
Remus looked at Fenrir, who just shrugged. "Let's take this back to the den. Maybe Vishaka knows why we felt a pull."
Remus smiled when Fenrir started to walk away. He doesn't know what this outing was, but he definitely wants to do it again.
