The Dark Side of the Moon

Chapter 16

Remus and Fenrir both went to the moonstone. Remus felt a rush of power go through him. Vishaka was eyeing it with a gleam in her eye. Jasper was still staring at it, completely transfixed. Vishaka snapped her fingers in front of his face. Jasper jumped and rushed to help get the moonstone. 

"How do we get it out of here?" Vishaka asked. Before Remus knew what he was doing, he touched it. Come on shrink. As if it could listen to Remus's thoughts, it shrunk to the size of an orange. 

Jasper blinked. "How did you do that?"

"I-I don't know. I touched it and it-it shrank."

"Well whatever he did worked so let's get out of here?" Vishaka said. "The potion's gonna wear off in 30 minutes." Fenrir picked up the stone and slipped it into his pocket. "Let's go."

The four of them quickly walked out of the room and back to the main hall. There were less people in it now that lunch started. Suddenly the Ministry went dark. There were shouts of alarm all around the hall. 

"It must be because of the moonstone. Come on let's quickly get out of here," Vishaka whispered urgently. They quickly made it to the lobby, but were stopped by Sirius Black. Remus bit back a groan. 

"Why hello Christina. Fancy seeing you here." Remus took a moment to realize that Sirius was talking to him. "What do you want, Black?" Remus snapped, while motioning the others to leave. 

"Well I was wondering if-" Remus wasn't focusing on what he was saying and instead was looking at Vishaka, who looked like she was changing back. Remus's widened. He must be changing back to.

"So what do you say?" Remus focused his attention back on Sirius. "Yeah-yeah sure. Whatever you say."

Sirius grinned. "Alright, I'll pick you up at 8." 

Remus just nodded. "Listen I gotta go I'll see you at 8." With that, Remus practically ran to the others. They all quickly made their way outside and to the alleyway, where no one discovered the bodies. They all turned back to themselves by then. 

"You would think that Ministry would have better security," Jasper said as he changed out of the Ministry robes. "Especially with You-Know-Who around."

"Whatever," Vishaka said. "Easier for us."

When they got back to the loft, Fenrir and Remus took to the couch. Fenrir wrapped his arm around Remus, pulling against his chest. Remus laid his head on Fenrir's chest. 

Jasper grinned. "You two are bloody adorable."

Fenrir reached into his pocket and pulled out the moonstone. "Here," he said as he gave it to Vishaka. "How does it work?"

Remus looked at it intently. "Maybe we should have it close to us at all times."

Vishaka looked at him. "What do you mean?"

"Like we should keep it close to us-"

"Like wearing it."

"Yeah, like jewelry-"

"Like a necklace."

"Yeah like a necklace and we can recharge it-"

"Whenever we feel weakened," Vishaka finished.

"Exactly," Remus said throwing his hands up and almost hitting Fenrir.

Jasper looked between the two of them. "It's weird to think that a week ago you two were arguing over everything."

"Hey," Remus raised his hands in defense. "She was the one always picking a fight."

"Yeah I'm sorry about that," Vishaka said while sitting down next to Remus. "I don't trust easily, but now, you're like family. I would do anything for you."

Before anyone can say anything, a Death Eater comes barging in. The werewolves turned to glare at him.

"Um...There-there's a m-meeting at t-the Black f-family h-house at seven. D-don't be l-late," the Death Eater said before stumbling out of the room.

Remus rolled his eyes. Vishaka perked up. "The letter said that Regulus was working with Danny, so maybe another Horcrux is there."

Fenrir sighed. "Another meeting. Bloody brilliant."
