The Dark Side of the Moon

Chapter 23

Remus rushed into the Great Hall, where all of the students are sitting at their house tables. Dumbledore was standing at the podium at the front of the hall. He noticed Remus enter the hall and immediately pointed his wand at Remus. 

Before he could do anything, Professor McGonagall went to stand in front of Remus. "Albus. Put your wand down. Instead of focusing on Remus, you should secure the wards and evacuate the children." Dumbledore hesitated, but ended up listening to McGonagall. "Filius! Horus! Go secure the perimeter. All children under seventeen, follow the other teachers and floo out of here."

Remus turned to McGonagall gratefully. "Thank you so much Professor."

"Not a problem Remus. I knew you could never be the traitor."

Remus grimaced. "Actually, I did become a Death Eater, but after they tried to kill me."

McGonagall looked shocked, but she smiled. "Go on. Go save the world. We'll hold them back."

Remus smiled before running to meet the his friends at the other side of the Great Hall. "Alright, I'll take these and set them on fire. I think I got the spell down. Vishaka you go after the snake. Jasper, Fenrir just go at it and don't die or I swear to god."

Vishaka and Jasper grinned at him. "Don't worry we'll be fine," Jasper said before they both ran off to where the Order members were. Remus made sure James and Sirius spread the word that werewolves are allies not enemies. 

Fenrir turned to Remus and pulled him into a passionate kiss. They pulled back and rested their foreheads against each other. "I don't know how today is going to end, but what I do know is that I love you, Remus." Remus looked shocked. He opened his mouth to reply, but Fenrir cut him off. "No. Don't say anything. After we survive this, then."

Remus smiled at him. "Okay. I'll survive just to tell you that-" Fenrir cut him off with another kiss. "Now go destroy those things. I'll see you later." With that Fenrir ran off. 

BOOM. 

The doors of the Great Hall blew open. Death Eaters streamed in, shouting curses. Order members all around engaged different Death Eaters. Remus saw Sirius dueling his cousin, Bellatrix and saw James fighting two masked Death Eaters.  

Remus threw a curse at a blonde Death Eater that was sneaking up on James from behind. James turned and smiled at Remus, who smiled back, before going to fight another Death Eater.

Remus sneaked out of the Great Hall and came face to face with Dumbledore. Dumbledore smiled at him. "Hello, Remus."

Remus stared at him before yelling. "What the fuck do you think you're doing. Your Order is out there risking their lives to stop V-Voldemort and you're just standing here watching. Get your ass out there and fight. I know for a fact that Voldemort wants you to fight him."

Dumbledore smiled at him again. Remus was starting to get even more annoyed. 

"You're doing good, Remus." Remus stared at Dumbledore again, this time in shock. "You're doing better with the werewolves than you ever did with us. I hope you do accept my apology for trying to kill you and for trying to turn your friends against you. But it did work in your favor."

Remus thought about it. "You know what. I do forgive you. Mainly because any of us can die today and I refuse to die while holding a grudge."

"You're a good man, Remus. Now go destroy those Horcruxes." Remus nodded and walked forward. "Wait how did you know about-" Remus turned and noticed that Dumbledore was already gone. He shrugged and continued running.

Fenrir punched a Death Eater in the gut and watched him crumple to the floor. Jasper was fighting another Death Eater with his claws and fangs out, slashing at the Death Eaters chest and dodging spells. Vishaka was looking through the crowds while dodging spells and cursing Death Eaters. "Where is that bloody snake?" Vishaka asked, frustrated. 

Fenrir looked around. "Possibly with You-Know-Who. Who is at the front doors," Fenrir said while staring at Voldemort. Suddenly a huge gust of wind hit everyone in the Great Hall. Vishaka rolled her eyes. "He sure knows how to make a dramatic entrance." 

At the other end of the hall, stood Dumbledore, wand in his hand. Voldemort smirked, "Dumbledore. Finally ready to face his death." Dumbledore's left eye twinkled. "I am not afraid of death Tom. However, I cannot say the same for you. You did everything you can to make sure you do not die."

Voldemort blasted a spell toward Dumbledore, who blocked it with a wave of his wand. People got out of Voldemort's way as he sent another spell toward Dumbledore. 

Vishaka spotted the snake a few meters away. The snake slithered its way toward Sirius and raised its head to strike him, when Vishaka blasted it with a spell. Sirius looked back and saw the snake coming up again, blasting it with another spell.

Voldemort and Dumbledore continue their fight in the center of the hall. The scattered fights were happening all over the hall, ceased when Voldemort suddenly fell back clutching his chest. He let out a shriek of agony. He got up and looked around wildly. 

Vishaka took her chance and fired the fiendfyre at Nagini. The curse hit her tail and consumed her in flames. Voldemort let out another chilling yell.

"AVADA KEDAVRA" Voldemort screamed pointing his wand at Dumbledore, in a wild attempt to do what he came for. The spell hit Dumbledore square in the chest. Dumbledore flew back and hit the floor, dead.

Remus ran into the hall, having gotten rid of the rest of the Horcruxes in an empty classroom. He came to a silent hall, a dead Dumbledore, and a seething Voldemort, that shouts a curse at him. James who was closest to Remus pulled him out of the way. That turned Voldemort's attention onto him.

Suddenly there were howls from the entrance hall. Remus turned to see Axel and the other werewolves there. They immediately sprang into action, slashing Death Eaters left and rights, while dodging spells. Axel caught Remus's eyes and winked. 

James and Sirius were both dueling Voldemort. Remus rushed to join them. They kept firing spells at Voldemort who kept blocking them. Sirius ducked a killing curse and locked eyes with Remus. Remus locked eyes with James. The three of them nodded. They surrounded Voldemort and yelled. "AVADA KEVAVRA!"

The three spells hit Voldemort at the same time.
